"You mother fu-" I start to scold, getting cut off by the speaker blaring.
"Congratulations to all winners! We are now moving onto the next stage. Please head to the front as soon as you can or else you may or may not be disqualified. See you soon!" As soon as the speaker cuts out, Mark lets out a laugh and scratches the back of his head.
"You better win the prize because I'm looking forward to that date to a fancy restaurant." Mark says with a cheeky grin. Deciding to play a little game on Mark, I let a smirk slide onto my face.
"I was actually thinking about taking Nate on a date there. I hope I didn't get your hopes too high." I say ,turning towards the nearest staircase. "Ive got to go now," I say with a half-smile. "See you later Markimoo."Not looking back, I start to walk down the hall that led to the stairs. Knowing that Mark was watching me walk away, I add a little sway to my hips to give him a slight show. I hear a small exhale behind me that tells me that he was obviously looking. Hooray for skinny jeans.
Time Skip
Kaye and a geeky looking college student versus a really sharp looking man and I. The teams for the final round. I glance at the person next to me and pray that this guy is good. He was probably thinking the same thing because he turns to me as the other team gets a new green vest.
"I sure hope you aren't that bad at this. But seeing as how you dress and how you made it this far, I believe that you are fine." His Australian accent hits me like a rock in the head. Jesus his accent is sharp too. From afar he looked around 40 but up-close he looks younger. I scoff, remembering that he was the hidden teammate on Mark's team last round, aka, the reason why Mark died. A staff worker hands him and I a red vest.
"Well weren't you the person who hid all last round? Shouldn't I be the one who is concerned for the team and not you ?" I snap while rolling my eyes.
"Shh. I don't care if you're a popstar or not, I can question whoever." He says playfully.
I put my vest on as he puts his on.
Ah. He knows.
"Okay sharp looking older male, we shall be a good team indeed."
He chuckles and runs his hand through his hair.
The staff worker walks up to the front one last time.
"Alright everyone, Time for you to have a good game and play fair. The last person standing wins. Any questions?"
A player from the other team chimes in. "I have one," the staff member guestures for them to continue. "What if we kill them and both survive?" The person eagerly asks.
"Well the winners each get a card. It's simple. The map is slightly less big compared to the last round so that it will not take as long. Each team shall now be assisted to the starting positions." As he says that, a male staff member walks over and leads us through three large halls. The worker was wearing a hat and was seemingly hiding their face from us. Suspicious? Maybe. The other staff member is leading the other team to their starting positions. The random staff member faces the wall and waits for a moment.
Soon we end up being released, the Australian accented male walks into the battleground first and I start to walk behind him. I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn to see the staff worker with a grin on their face. It's Nathan Sharp. Flesh and blood.
"Oh my god Nathan!" I yelp and go in for a hug.
"Woah Jackaboy. Still clingy as ever I suppose?"
"Hell yes. Tryin to find the right people to cling on."
Nate smiles brightly and lets out a chuckle.
"Hey give me your phone. You gotta go but I wanna meet up after this game." Nate states as I hand him my unlocked and contact-opened iPhone. He quickly types his number in and texts himself a heart from my phone. His phone buzzed and he handed me my phone back. He smirks and lightly shoves me forward.
"Shoo shoo. You have a game to win." He says with a smile.
I rush ahead with an unfading smile and go back up the stairs quickly. The second way up was blocked off. Huh so did they block off some halls too?
I roam the large halls until I get caught at a dead end. This wasn't blocked off before. I personally establish in my brain the fact that some halls are cut off. Suddenly, the intercom goes off and a staff member speak in the speaker. I jump and listen to what they had to say.
"A green team member has been eliminated." A woman's voice says. "There are two Red team members remaining. Good luck," She adds in. The intercom cuts out shortly after. Everything falls silent. It isn't going to end easily is it? I decide to head back over to the top of the staircase. Returning there, I decide to hatch a plan to win this game.
