"So what you're saying is that the Russians basically want my head on a platter," I summed up what Maddox had just told everyone in Adriano's office. I was the only one besides Adriano that sat, as my brothers and Xander stood, trying to process what Maddox had acquired from the dead man in the basement.

Maddox nodded his head slowly, confirming what I had just assumed. My lips formed into a tight line. I placed my head in my hands and sighed.

Silence filled the room, making me tense as I overwhelmed myself with thoughts on how I was going to get out of this mess.

Thing is, I obviously couldn't.

"What's the plan then? Lock me in a bulletproof box?" I snapped, my nerves fueling my anger at how trapped I was in this situation. I looked around at all the men, looking for the answer as to how I could get out of this.

"We bait the gioi skýlon," Xander finally states arms crossed against his chest as he stands tall. I look up at him with a confused expression.

"The only way to get Norah out of their sights is to scare them away. If we can lure those from their inner circle out, we can weaken them. After a few critical deaths, they'll have no choice but to back down from their threats," He explained.

"There's no way the higher-ups are easy to get to," Ricardo pointed out.

"That's why we get them alone," Xander replied, smirking as he connected with my confused gaze.

Maddox follows his eyes and instantly understood.

"No. Norah is not about to be the bait," Maddox snapped, his voice deep and almost possessive. I turned my head and looked at him with a surprised expression.

I looked back to Xander who hadn't taken his eyes off of me, even as Maddox kept a deadly glare on him.

"You can't seriously think that I'd go through with this. They know who I am. They'd pull a gun the second they recognized me," I shot down the idea.

"Not necessarily. If the Russians knew what you looked like, you'd be dead by now," Xander countered.

"We took Norah out of their reach for a reason, and now you're saying we deliver her to them?" Maddox ridiculed his outlandish idea.

Xander smirked once again.

"Except, the woman they see will not be Norah Romaniello."

Finally, Adriano stepped into the conversation after sitting in silence, analyzing what Xander was proposing.

"So, you're suggesting that Norah disguises herself with a fake identity," Adriano confirmed Xander's plan. Before Xander could reply, I stepped in.

"I'm sorry? You want to use me as bait by giving me a fake alias, yet you couldn't just give me a new identity and send me to a different state?" I questioned incredulously. I couldn't believe what they were saying.
