Together Again

I wake up smiling. I flip around and Damon lays there. I smile so big it almost hurts. I give him a gentle kiss and his eyes open. I pull myself out of bed, followed by Damon who kisses my neck. I pull him around kissing him intensely.

"God you have no idea how much I missed you." I whisper.

"Elena!"

"It's Caroline! I forgot she was picking me up for my appointment today!"

"I'm going with you."

"Let's go." I change into my usual. Damon's shirt over a white tank top with short shorts. I pull my black flats on, then I grab Damon's hand.

"You should scare her. She doesn't know you're alive."

"Okay."

"Jeremy come on you get to see your nephew or niece!"

"Okay." I head downstairs with Jeremy, Damon following close behind. He flashes behind the couch where Caroline is sitting.

"Boo." He whispers. I run over to Damon's side as Caroline shoots up.

"Damon!?! What the hell is going on?"

"Bonnie brought him back yesterday."

"You scared the hell out of me!"

"C'mon, let's go." I grab his hand. He pulls me into him, kissing me.

"Oh!" I hold my baby bump and I laugh.

"What?"

"There was a little disagreement."

"Can't daddy kiss mommy?" She gives several hard kicks in response.

"She loves your voice. I remember when we were talking she would always kick before Jeremy responds. I think she could hear you." He smiles at me. We head over to the hospital.

"The doctors appointments are nothing. The one that was really exciting was the 5 month when I found out the baby's gender."

"Wait you know?"

"Yes but I didn't want to tell you until today. I wanted to wait until you were actually alive."

"I guess I see that. So do we have a son or a daughter?!?"

"Be patient Damon. You're gonna be fine."

"I hate the anticipation."

"You're gonna be FINE Damon." We sit down in the chairs, waiting.

"Elena Salvatore Dr. Fell will see you now."

"Salvatore hmm?"

"We're married remember?" I hold up the finger that has the ring. He smiles at me then tugs me closer, giving me a small kiss.

"Hey Elena how-" Meredith goes wide eyed at Damon.

"I'm back from the dead." I situate myself on the table. I pull my shirt up, allowing Meredith to rub the blue stuff.

"How active?"

"The baby loves Damon's voice. Always starts kicking a lot."

"Can we get to the part where you two tell me what our baby is?"

"2 things. The baby is a vampire and we have a daughter." He smiles down at me.

"I wanna see her." Meredith waves the camera around her stomach. I hold her hand waiting. Meredith stops and points.

"There. There's your daughter." He looks up at the screen. I smile at his face. He reaches out and gently touches the screen.

"She's so beautiful." A tear slips out of his eye. Meredith wipes the goo off my stomach. She gives us a picture and a CD. I pull Damon out of the office.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"You gave me the chance to have a family again."

"Well I couldn't have done it without you." He laughs and kisses me.

"Just another 3 months and we'll be holding our little girl."

"Our little girl. Ember Rose Salvatore." He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me closer.

"It's the three of us, Damon. Forever."
