Jade and Sandy flew through Burgess, following the black nightmare. Of course. Jade was flying normally and Sandy on his patch of swirling gold sand. They had a similar race to this years ago when they first met. She would hate to lose a friend like Sandy. Sure, she had three new friends and a frenemy but she had known Sandy the longest. Jade liked his dreams that he gave children and his tendency to form drawings of sand over his head.

Meanwhile, Sandy saw Jade gliding through the cold air. He first met her about two and a half centuries ago. She was just sitting alone, no friends, no nothing. She would just sit there, drawing on Windows when people went to sleep. Sandy approached Jade. She was frightened of him at first, but Sandy promised to see he meant no harm.

"Wait you can see me?" She asked. Sandy nodded enthusiastically. "Are you another spirit?"

Sandy nodded again.

"Not much of a bit talker, are ya little man?" Jade asked. He just shrugged his shoulder.

Sandy made Jade smile.

"What's your name?" Jade asked. Sandy formed sand and man over his head. "Sandman is it? Got a nickname, like Sandy or something?""
Sandy formed a check mark.

"So, it is Sandy. My name's Jade Frost, sisters like to call me 'Jay'. Sometimes, people call me Jack Frost, but I'm not even a guy. At least kids don't call you the 'Sand Woman', an I right?"

Sandy laughed lightly at her humor.

"Yeah, you're right," Sandy said through his images.

"Well, better let you get back to work, huh?" She asked. "I think I'll just sit here for a while."

Sandy noticed it was nothing she wanted to do. He'd seen children like this, lonely, looking for a friend. Sandy was a guardian of childhood, sure this girl was not a child but she had the appearance that of a fourteen years old. Maybe her coming with him on a couple of trips would lift Jade's spirits up. (so to speak).

Sandy taps on her shoulder and gestures for her to be along.

"Wait, you want me to come with you?" Jade asked. "Don't you have to spread dreams with children. I mean won't it be distracting if I were with you?" Sandy shook his head.

"Okay, I'll race you there!" Jade was up in through the wind. Sandy went to follow.

Now, there they were 250 years later. Sandy saw that Jade hadn't changed a bit. Still her fun loving self. They continued to race through the sky. Sandy saw a couple of other Nightmares Jade was chasing. He was able to get on the Nightmare and turned it into his gold sand. Riding it through the wind. However, Sandy lost sight of Jade. Where did that girl go to? Well if Pitch was out there, he would most certainly do something terrible to Jade. If the Boogeyman did anything to harm her, Sandy would surely beat the crap out of him, so he went to find her.

Meanwhile, Jade was too distracted to notice Sandy. She was happy chasing something that belonged to Pitch. She finally cornered it to a rooftop. Taking her staff, Jade threw a blue blast of ice and it hit the Nightmare.

"Yeah!" She shouted and cried for joy. I got it!" She laughed some more and flew up to the nightmare covered in frost. Sandy! Sandy, did you see that?" She tapped on it, electric shock coming off it.

" Hehehe! Look at this thing!" She continued tapping it." Unknown to her, Pitch came from behind, studying her, wondering why this girl was fighting a battle she shouldn't get herself involved in.

"Frost?" He said.

Jade panicked. She shot a blast of snow Pitch's direction but he disappeared to a higher roof.
