"Can I sleep over at your house?"

Guanlin asked when we were on our way home. I couldn't say no, not to those sparkling, puppy eyes. I was lonely at home because mom wasn't home yet anyway, so I said yes.

He was about to lay on the couch on my room, before I immediately stopped him. "The couch isn't comfortable for you to sleep. So, uh.. I-it's fine if you sleep next to me." His eyes grew big for a second, before he hesitantly agreed.

We left a gap between us, and he promised to not cross a line and do such thing.

"Good night, uyu.."

"Good night, Guanlin."

And after that, his eyes were closed shut.

I turned aside, laying on my back. It took only a couple of minutes before I heard soft snores from him. And when I was sure he was already sound asleep, I slowly turned aside, making sure I didn't make any sound that might wake him.

As the moment I faced him, my eyes were fixed to his sleeping face. He must be so tired.

The dim light in my room shone onto his face. And he looked so ethereal, so beautiful and so delicate. My hand slowly moved, stroking his black, soft hair. A smile formed on my lips, adoring each of his beautiful facial feature.

"Hey." His eyes suddenly opened, looking at me with a smile on his beautiful lips.

I was startled, and immediately I felt my cheeks burning. I quickly pulled my hand back. "S-sorry."

He just gave me a smile, as he caressed my cheek. "Can't sleep?" He asked with his eyes half opened.

I slowly nodded, agreeing. I was already sleepy, but I just couldn't sleep. "But it's fine. Just go to sleep again. I'll still fall asleep later."

He suddenly reached his long arm out, pulling me into his warm embrace. I was a bit shocked at first, but soon actually felt safe. "Want me to sing?" he asked, as he tucked a strand of my hair to the back of my ear.

I lifted my head, looking at him. "As a lullaby?"

He nodded. "So you can sleep."

I smiled sheepishly , and snuggled into his chest. "Sure."

I could feel he wrapped his hand around my body again, warming me.

And by the time he sang me a song, I finally felt my eyelids became heavy.

"Let’s hold hands just like now
Let’s stay together like the word, forever
You and I, with hearts that won’t change
I promise to love you.."

And right before my eyes were closed shut, I felt his lips brushed against my forehead.

"Good night, love. Sleep tight."
