The sun was touching everything in sight with lovely colors as it began to touch the horizon where it would soon hide.
Nothing is better then this. To finally get out of the city, enjoy nature, and pretend life is simple.
I'm in Utah at the moment only stopping to sleep on park benches and under bridges. The fresh air and the the wildlife just begs me to stay longer. I wish I could stay here forever and remember nothing, but even now I can begin to feel the air begin to chill and the sky increase with dangerous looking clouds. Definitely don't wanna be caught in a storm. Last time I stayed in that weather I nearly a passed out from the cold and exhaustion. I still get the chills thinking abut it,
I take one last breath of the fresh air and begin walking over to my makeshift bike parked on a tree nearby. I swing my leg over the seat and begin peddling. Turning when I reach to main road. The sound of the bad chain and nearly flat tires starts to become earsplitting. Guess I better look for some new parts.
Traveling can be difficult so I somehow managed to scrape up some parts. I got them from all over in peoples garbage, at the dump, and I have a few friends who managed to hook me up.
The water droplets sprinkling on my back and I can already feel my clothing getting soaked.
Not long later it begins pouring rain so hard that you might as well as forgotten what dry clothing was.
The rain begin to feel so cold that it like it was freezing me to the bone. Not this again. Peddling begins to get twice as hard too and I can already feel my legs tense up in exhaustion.
FLASH...BOOM
Lightning.
Better get some cover quick there is a small town a mile away or so.
I try to focus on the road and my peddling to distract from the cold. How do I always manage to get in situations like this. Suddenly I can see something move off to my right in my peripheral vision. Curious, I glance back to see only the endless woods. Not a thing.
I keep peddling.
I find my self to be no longer looking at the road but distracted at what's all around me. Something moves ahead of me, off to the left this time, to far away to see. So it wasn't just my eyes playing tricks.
I try to force my legs with all my strength and peddle faster to see if I can see it again.
Trying to focus my vision through the rain I see the figure start to take shape.
It...
It cant be?
I peddle faster than ever before, just trying to get away. I look to the right, only to see more of them... over a dozen. I can feel my adrenalin kick in and I can feel hot tears on my face even through the pouring rain. They began appearing everywhere
Behind me...
Left and right...
FLASH.
More lightning.
Will they just go away. My breathing picks up as they surround- no chase me.
BOOM
Thunder echos everywhere and I feel the jerk of my bike and was tossed from it, tumbling to the ground head first. I lay there stunned and unable to move for over a minute. Slowly, I open my eyes trying to get them to adjust. Everything blurs together. I pick up my head and slowly sit up. Reaching for the top of my head, I feel a sharp sting as I touch a wound and gasp in pain collapsing back to the floor.
I try and look up to see what had been chasing me.
A wolf. Guess my family is cursed.
It had dark black fur and bright acid green eyes staring me down. Looking all around me I see I'm surrounded by over a dozen more.
"I-I can't die like this" I manage to spit out.
The green eyed wolf steps forward... closer to me. I try to back away but it was no use.
"You wont die just yet. We need to know if its you first" I hear. I glance around.
"Who said that!?!"
A light grey one walks closer to me sniffing me up and down, turning its head to the others.
"Are you sure its her. I mean look at her. She cant possible be the one, she is weak"
My eyes widen as I realize what's happening. Did they just... talk?
"Your right we must have proof before we do anything. We could just kill her but we need to know if she is a descendant and if she knows where a gem is!"
The wolves are talking. Hows that even possible??
"Wh- I d- don't-"
The light grey wolf interrupts me again.
"It cant be her she couldn't change into a fly if she tried and even then can't you tell she knows nothing of us!"
What is this. Whats going on?
My eyes dart between wolves still thinking about what to do with me. The green eyed wolf looks at me a stares intensely before I hear the first voice again.
"Can it be? Does she really know nothing? Even then, she is still a descendant. They will find her and we cant let that happen"
The second voice speaks again, "And we all know what that means" They all turn their heads directly at me, baring teeth. My eyes widen and I can feel the fear spread all throughout my body. They are going to kill me. My breathing picks up and I wrap my arms around me, hiding my face. I can't die here. The wolves growling picks up and I could tell they were analyzing me, finding the best way to attack. I don't wanna end things like this.
BOOM
A big flash of light with a great boom. The wolves, I can hear, are yelping. I look up to see that they are all scattering. What happened to make them like this? Suddenly my eyes feel heavy and I feel instantly drained. I collapse to the floor barely able to move. My ears begin to ring and I can barely keeps my eyes open.
I look into the woods and see the two glowing green eyes of what seemed to be the leader. I hear him growl one final time before the eyes disappear into the darkness. I'm just going to... Close my eyes.... For a bit....
