Arriving back at the house late at night was exhausting. I basically passed out the moment I changed and found my bed. Connor didn't seem too phased though, taking his time when going to bed.

It was like he wasn't even tired?

"Connor, aren't you exhausted?" I asked, rubbing my eyes and climbing under the covers.

"Nope." He stated, confusing me. He must've saw, because he then said. "I was wired and programmed to hunt down deviants all day and work harmoniously with humans, do you think I get tired?"

I could practically see the sass dripping from his mouth.

"Okay, jeez, no need to be so sassy about it!" I laughed, causing one of his eyebrows to arch.

"Sass? What do you mean?" He questioned, sitting on his bed.

"Sass. Isn't that in your vocabulary?" I titles my head, sitting down on my bed.

"No, I was not- How do you know the word?" He asked, standing up and moving towards me.

She then picked up the can from the ungrateful boy.

"Mom and Dad should be home soon. How about you go make some use out of yourself and make it look like I clean my room." The boy said, shooing her away with a hand as he watched football.

"Right away."

Mid way through cleaning, she heard front to slam shut.

"Don't give me that sass, Mariah, you know not to shut the door that hard." The mother could be heard from the kitchen.

"And you know not to cheat on Daddy!" The daughter screamed back, frustrated.

Silence.

Then a slap was heard, and fast footsteps up the stairs.

Flinching, the Android continued cleaning.

Sass?

What was that?

Later on that night, she proceeded onto the computer to answer her questions.

She then found out that it meant to "be cheeky or rude to (someone).", as it said on the internet, but she also learned that it could also be in an amusing way.

Though, she knew that it was not in an amusing way..

"Y/n? Are- Are you alright?! Your stress levels are high." Connor questioned, bringing me right back into reality, as he sat down beside me.

I tried to speak, but all that came out was a squeak.

Like a mouse.

The thought was enough to let a single tear drip down my face.

"Oh Y/n, I didn't mean to-" He tried to say but was soon cut off by a hug. "I'm sorry.." He said, softly.

"There's-" I started, pulling away and wipping the single tear away. "There's nothing to be sorry about. I'm fine, it just made me think of something."
