"So, do you want to go somewhere?" I asked peacefully, know that when I was with Connor, I was more than safe.

"Yes, we could go into town if you want?" He raised an eyebrow in a questioning way, asking for my opinion. Although I was the one that suggested we go somewhere else, I didn't necessarily want to leave. The clouds had just ran over the sun and it made the park more calming than I ever thought it could be. This place held both amazing and terrible times.

"Yes, if you want to." I replied after looking around, watching a few birds fly into a nest that was perched in a tree. Two parent birds and one baby bird. I smiled at the happy feathery family.

I must have missed it, but soon Connor was standing in front of me with a hand out, ready to help me up. I gladly took the offer. After he helped me up, we walked towards the exit slowly. I could tell he knew that it was so calm in this place, nothing had to be said.

The fact that Connor was the one who was standing next to me made it better. Around him, I could be myself, I could feel safe and comfortable. I wonder if ever feels that way around me?

Taking a quick glance, I look at Connor. His chocolate brown eyes had a sense of relief in them. His eyebrows were relaxed, showing no sign of emotion, in a good way. His lips had quirked from when I last saw them, a corner raised unlike the other, as if enjoying the moment.

The clothes he picked out for today were very summer like, even though it wasn't even in the seventies. He wore a pale blue short sleeve button up shirt and tan cargo shorts. It was still a bit chilly outside, so if anyone saw him, then they would think he was crazy. Connor had his sensors off so he wouldn't feel coldness or anything like that, which is why he wasn't cold.

On the other hand, I wore a loose white button up t-shirt with ripped jeans and a tan sun hat. I wore brown combat boots, unlike Conner who wore men's flip-flops. I rolled my eyes, looking down at his feet. A light chuckle left my lips.

"What's so funny?" Connor asked, catching my attention and tilting his head while raising an eyebrow. He still had the quirk to his lip, but not in a smug or snarky way, more of a naive and innocent way.

"It's just, when people are going to look at you in the town, they'll think you're crazy." I laughed, looking him up and down.

His cheeks flushed a soft blue, as both sides of his lips tugged in an uncontrollable way.

{Connor's Point of View}

Seeing her like this was the highlight if my day. Her smile reached from ear to ear as her face flushed from laughing too hard. Stumbling a few times, we walk in almost complete silence.

Almost.

Still smiling, every now and then she would let out a chuckle. Eventually we made our way out of the park, and in a matter of minutes, we were in town. For the first time in a while, I looked at the sky. It was dark and gloomy, unlike the feeling it gave out this morning. Gray and dull clouds covered the bright sun that we saw this morning. Instead of puffy and comfy clouds, they were now more of threatening and ominous.

Of course, I wasn't ignorant, I knew what this meant.

But that did not stop the surprised look that flashed on my face as a drop of water hit my nose while looking up.
