"Come on Dave, wake up." Ava said, crying over her brother's unconscious body.

"Do you think he's dead ?" Mason asked.

Ava stood up, grabbed a knife from the pocket of her jeans and raised it in their direction.

Mason and Liam backed away immediately.

"Whoah !" Mason exclaimed. "I know you're angry, but we can discuss this calmly, okay ? My chemistry teacher will give us the results of our last test tomorrow and I want to know my rating !"

Ava ignored him and planted the blade of her knife in her palm. Mason screamed.

Ava then took Dave's hand and watched him for a few seconds.

"He doesn't feel what I feel anymore." She declared.

"What does it mean ?" Liam asked.

"It means I lost him."

She paused.

"Because of you !" She added, brandishing her knife furiously towards them.

Mason was shaking, but Liam was totally impassive.

"I only have problems because of you ! It's your fault !"

"Wait, do you mean he's dead?" Liam asked, confused.

"Does he look alive to you ?" Ava retorted, dryly.

"Well-" Mason began.

Ava pointed the knife towards him. He stiffened, panicked.

"I told you your idea was bad." He whispered to Liam.

"Shut up." Liam retorted.

"No, you two, shut up !" Ava exclaimed, angry. "You separated me from my brother and I intend to make you regret it !"

The sound of a slammed window echoed behind her. She turned around.

Dave's body had disappeared.

"I don't want to sound too optimistic, but I guess he's alive so maybe you can put that knife down ?" Mason asked.

"You think Dave is possessed by a demon ?" Mason asked.

"That's the only explanation." Ava answered, pacing the room. "If I can't make contact with him anymore that means something is controlling him."

"If Dave's gone, what are you going to do ?" Liam asked.

"I'm going to find my brother. I'm not going to sit there and hope that things will get better because they won't."

She walked towards the door.

"Where are you going ?" Mason asked.

"Didn't you hear what I just said ? I'm going to find my brother !"

"Can we help you ?"

"Go burn in the flames of hell." She replied. "Both of you."

She left and closed the door agressively.

"I don't know why, but I still like her." Mason added.
