Chapter 5

Chance noticed and ran over, then tried to break it up. As soon as Chance tried to interfere Ace put up a magical blue shield to protect him from the fight. Ace then said," Keep watch Chance and don't look back....." Chance gave a rebuttal of, "Why?.....You need to sto" Ace then interrupted,"Just go and do as you are told.... You are a beta and that is all you will ever be " Chance took the command but was upset by what Ace had said. Ace then focused his attention on me and said,"Golden you are better than this.... I have been amazed by you... I am very lucky and proud to have a pup like you in our pa..." Before he could finish his sentence I screamed,"Lies.....you know what happened to my parents.... Tell me or I will kill you..." Ace quickly replied with, "I was going to tell you.... It is just... I promised your mom.... That I would not tell you until you were ready....." I just froze and a vision, you can call it a daydream if you wish, showed my dad being killed and my mother was made into a angel. She was stuck roaming the Earth,but never to see me again. It ended abruptly and my tail went down and my ears went down. I started to whimper and broke into tears as I was slowly climbing off of Ace. He then, in a caring quiet voice said," Do you understand what happened?" I said in a high pitched, uneasy voice,"yes...." Then I laid down, curled up into a ball. Ace put down the shield then, Chance looked at me and something was wrong. The vision kept playing in my mind over and over again, and that was all I could think about. Chance signaled with his paw for Ace to come away from me.
