"Harry." I breathed out, my mind was reeling at his presence. Though I denied it, here he was in the flesh before me.
Those adorable dimples popped out as a smile graced his more defined face. Jade orbs dancing in delight at my recognition, thrilled that I had not forgotten him.
But how could I forget the man I loved years ago? The man who had caused such much destructive pain, yet also brought such sweet relief with a mere glance. He was unforgettable much to my dismay for trying to forget him.
"So you haven't forgotten me, Ray?" Rising to his feet, bending down to eye level with me. Green crashing with blue, as if the land and sea had just met unexpectedly.
"Unfortunately not." My tone held a bite to it, regaining my composer. The girl he once knew was no more, and he needed to know that I was no longer the innocent little naïve girl he thought me to be. She was dead and gone, and I would no longer succumb to his charms anymore.
By the look that shaded his face, he recognized my revelation taking this as a challenge to break my strong will against him.
"Rayna, he's here about the contract." My father's statement had me breaking our intense eye contact to look at him in anger. There was no way in hell we were going through this again.
"Forgive me, father, but was the contract not null and void when he disappeared?" My question came out rather harshly, not that I cared at the moment.
"Yes, my princess." His murmur was clipped, clear evidence that I had pissed him off. I allowed a happy little sigh to pass my pouty lips.
"Well, Mr.Styles, it seems you have your answer then." A sickly sweet smile flashed at him as I turned to head out the door in victory.
A dark chuckle echoed the silent room, cutting the thick tension that hung in the air. "I have decided to renew the contract, Princess." His gravely words stopped me at the door, my hands gripping the wood for a moment as I drug in a long breath to calm the anger burning in my chest.
Two can play this game, you sick bastard.
I eased around to face him, a tight lipped smile hiding my pouty lips from his view. "Oh?" I questioned pacing slowly back to him, his green eyes locked on my swaying hips. When he darted his tongue to wet his lips, I knew the tables had turned for him.
"I believe in the law of the Royals that once a contract becomes null and void, it no longer stands. Therefore a new contract has to placed again." My hands intertwine behind my back as I near him, his eyes narrowing in deep thought.
"And in accordance to the law number two dash five section B paragraph two. Once a Royal surpasses the legal age of eighteen any contacts pertaining to the arrangement of marriage no longer hold value. Meaning the decision of marriage is now placed in the hands of said pairing." A bright smile had permanently etched my lips, watching his face drop at the information I had gladly reminded him.
"Further more, Styles, you are well passed the age of legal consent, yet you still persist on my hand in marriage." The pause in my speech had rendered all three men utterly speechless. No agreements could be made.
"I, myself, have also surpassed the legal age of consent. However, unfortunately for you, in your absence I have made a life for myself. I have decent kind friends and one hell of a boyfriend. With that being said, you can no longer force my hand in marriage." The silence that followed signaling my cue to leave and I once again headed for the office door.
