"I don't wanna go," I protested, trying to wriggle out of Jungkook's strong arms. He had my back pressed against his front in a crushing hold, laughing at my futile attempts at freedom.
"Miso, it's just the doctor. He won't kill you," Jungkook giggled, resting his chin on my head as an extra way to keep me down.
"You never know!" I argued, trying to elbow his stomach; my arm made literally no impact on him, instead, I felt my funny bone ache in a strange fizzing sensation after hitting what seemed to be his abs. "In all the medical horror movies, the doctors are the ones who murder their patients!" I continued, still struggling much to Jungkook's amusement.
"Are we ready to go- What the heck?" Jin and Namjoon walked into the room, Namjoon holding the keys while Jin slipped on a comfy bench coat. Namjoon gave us a puzzled look, which I ignored, hopelessly continuing to struggle in Jungkook's arms.
"She really doesn't want to go," Jungkook stated, blinking innocently at Namjoon and Jin.
"C'mon Miso, it's just the doctor," Namjoon laughed, walking up and ruffling my already utterly knotted hair from the fight with Kook.
"Are you scared, Miso?" Jin asked in concern, ignoring the two idiots joking about having a phobia of the doctor; they were currently acting out Frankenstein. Jin sighed, shaking his head.
"First of all, the actual name for a phobia of doctors is latrophobia," Jin stated, shooting a pointed look towards Namjoon, who was supposedly the 'smart one'. "Second of all, so what if Miso is scared of the doctor? Grow up."
We all froze in place at Jin's sudden sass, unsure of what to do in response to the elder's burst of annoyance. The room fell silent, only the faint tappy-clicky sound of Jungkook's console controller to be heard from mine and his room in the distance.
"Are we done now?" Jin finally asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, Jin," Jungkook, Namjoon and I all replied I unison, bowing our heads apologetically.
"Good," he sighed. "Right, Miso, I'm sure it's nothing serious. We're just concerned. You've had this sniffly nose for the past year now, and we're pretty sure it isn't just a cold," Jin continued, taking the keys from Namjoon and opening the dorm door.
"Kinda like me," Jungkook commented absent-mindedly as we made our way out. Jin locked the door behind us and followed us to where the van was parked. He and Namjoon had booked an appointment with a doctor under the permission of our manager and completely behind my back. In fact, I was still wearing Taehyung's massive hoodie that fell to my knees that I usually wore to bed due to the fact I had no idea we were going out anywhere today, let alone to the doctor.
"Miso, get in," Jungkook called, waiting by the open door for me to get in first.
"Mhm," I replied submissively, walking slowly towards the van before climbing in and buckling up.
The van drive was quiet, with only the soft music playing from the front where Namjoon and Jin were sat in driver and shotgun. It wasn't a long journey, and before I knew it, we were outside the doctors and clambering out of the van. I uncurled from my comfortable position by the window and slid the door open to get out. As soon as I stepped foot outside the van, Jungkook's arm flew around my shoulders in a playful headlock.
"Just in case you run away," he teased, messing up my hair; by now, it looked like a literally bird nest, home to at least ten of the winged creatures.
"Yeah, cause I'm gonna run away when I have no idea where I am," I retorted sarcastically, sniffling slightly.
"She sniffled again!" Namjoon declared, pointing an accusing finger at me.
"And what's wrong with that?" I asked, feeling scandalised. "Jungkook sniffles too," I added in defence.
"Jungkook has a reason to sniffle so much," Jungkook stated childishly in third person, giving me a pointed look.
"And maybe I do too!" I huffed. We walked into the reception, and I fell silent at the unfamiliar scent of extreme cleanness and sterilised surfaces. I hated it.
"Kim Miso?" the doctor called. I nodded, raising my hand and laboriously standing up with Namjoon, Jin and Jungkook all next to me.
"Here," Namjoon added, just in case. We followed him to his small office, and I reluctantly took a seat opposite him.
"Right, you are Kim Miso, yes?" the doctor asked, pointing a pen at me. I nodded quietly, holding back a sneeze that tickled my nose. I scrunched up my face for a second while he leafed through some paperwork. "Okay, I'm going to need you to list any symptoms that you've noticed," he ordered, looking at me expectantly.
When Jin realised I wasn't going to say anything, he spoke up.
"For the past year or so, she's been sniffing a lot," he started, ticking off the list on his fingers. "She's also been sneezing way more than the average person, and she's lost her voice several times due to... what was it? An itchy throat, I think."
"She's also been getting a lot of headaches recently," Jungkook added. "We thought it was her just overworking too late at first, but then we started sending her to bed earlier and nothing really changed."
"I'm not a child," I snapped quietly. Namjoon sent me a look that begged to disagree, but he kept his trap shut nonetheless.
"Right, right," the doctor nodded, eyes scanning over his computer screen. "Jeon Jungkook... is that you?" He nodded towards Jungkook, who nodded in return. "Yes, you experienced similar symptoms before, correct? Miss Kim Miso here is also experiencing similar symptoms to you. We diagnosed you with rhinitis, yes?"
"Ah, yeah," Jungkook confirmed, rubbing his nose slightly.
"What I think is that Miso also has rhinitis," the doctor concluded, shuffling some papers. "I mean, from what I've seen today, Miso has been sniffling quite a lot, and dark bags under her eyes are rather prominent too, which is also a symptom of rhinitis. It's nothing too serious, from what I can tell. Treatment would merely be things such as nasal spray and occasional tablets when it gets too much, but other than that, you have nothing to worry about," he concluded, shuffling his papers on the desk and laying them down neat.
"So you're not going to prescribe anything?" Namjoon asked, tilting his head. Jungkook slowly made his way towards me until he was stood behind my chair, and lazily draped his arms over my shoulders, resting his chin on my head. In a way, it was strangely reassuring.
"No," the doctor replied. He gave me a reassuring smile, the first time he looked at me throughout the entire appointment; still not sure if that's a good thing or not.
"Just act as you usually would," he continued, standing from his chair. I nodded, getting up and bowing my thanks before being ushered out of the office, Jungkook still clinging to my back.
"See? Not so bad," Jin laughed, nodding at the receptionist. I noticed her turn away and clutch the material over her heart, and grinned.
"We're matching!" Jungkook exclaimed, releasing my shoulders and lifting his chin from my head when we jogged down the stairs.
"Yeah, we have matching diseases," I clarified flatly, scrunching up my nose and smacking the back of his head. Jungkook pouted.
"Such a killjoy."

Whoa would you look at that, she actually posted a chapter—
So real talk, I might actually have rhinitis. Fun. I had to google it a bit and I have like 70% of the symptoms according to my mum. She's set on taking me to the doctors, but I absolutely hate going to doctors and dentists n such I don't even know why...
Anywho, I hope you enjoyed the imagine! I can't be the only one lowkey terrified of doctors?? x
(PS, I'm currently working on a new chapter for May The Best Badass Win. Dunno when it'll come out, but keep your eyes peeled)
