—NOTE: quick chapter cause I may or may not be crying at the video of BTS crying. I recommend listening to a sad song during this chapter.
It all felt like a dream.
London. We were in London for a concert. And even on top of that, it was in Wembley Stadium.
And we sold out.
We were all in a daze when we found out, there were several tears and a lot of "we made it"s.
"ARMY!" Jimin called into the mic, and he grinned at the loud cheers that he got. The concert had been going unbelievably smooth so far; no accidents, no wardrobe malfunctions, no nothing that could've ruined anything.
Whilst Jimin and Namjoon were speaking to ARMY, jungkook came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me, resting his chin on my head with a grin. I laughed and pretended to offer him a piggyback, but didn't expect him to actually try and jump onto my back.
We were so distracted that we forgot to keep track of what the other members were saying, so when we got up in a giggling mess, only to be greeted by silence, you can only imagine how hard my heart dropped.
Is this is? Is this where everything goes wrong? I thought to myself anxiously. I was pretty sure we were supposed to be performing out next song right now, but all I could see what darkness as the stage lights dimmed and ARMY went quiet. Even the screens were completely dark, and we all stood in confusion on the stage.
Suddenly, the screens lit up. Music started playing, but it definitely wasn't what we had rehearsed for hours on end. My eyes met Jungkook's and we both stared up at the screens in confusion.
And then they started singing.
We instantly recognised the song. It was Young Forever, a song that we had produced whilst the band was going through a tough time. The song held a lot of sentimental value to us both as BTS and as the whole fandom.
The lyrics were on the screen, and ARMY were singing along to the backing track. I heard a gasp from behind me, and turned to see Jungkook. His doe eyes were glistening with borderline-tears, bottom lip quivering the slightest bit, and shock painted onto his expression like a priceless piece of art from the Renaissance.
Forever, we are young...
I bit my lower lip and blinked rapidly, looking around at the other members to see the same surprised and teary expressions that mirrored Jungkook's.
The sea of ARMY bombs lit up the stadium, rippling with love and serenity. A fresh wave of emotions washed over me, and I had to bite my lip harder to stop myself from tearing up. Beside me, Jungkook's eyes were already rimmed with tears, his eyes and the tip of his nose a scarlet hue.
Jimin on my other side had his sleeve over his face to cover his expression, but I could tell by the faint sniffles and the redness around his eyes behind his tinted glasses that he too was on the brink of tears. Right now, Namjoon seemed to be the only one holding it all together.
Jin's face was one of dazed shock, and all he could do was flick between the screens and the rippling tide of love from the ARMYs as they continued to sing along to Young Forever.
Taehyung and Hoseok both seemed to be having a hard time keeping it together, Hobi visibly struggling more than Tae. Yoongi was teary but smiling softly, swaying slightly to the sound of ARMY singing.
Forever, ever, ever, ever...
Forever, ever, ever, we are young...
I managed a watery smile and began to sing along softly to my parts. The other members noticed and joined in where they could, give or take the odd sniff and rapid blinking.
When it was over, I finally let myself fall into Jungkook's hug and cry quietly, laughing when he tried to wipe away my tears but couldn't stop his own. Our faces appeared on the screens, and I awkwardly grinned and waved, mouthing an "I love you".
They erupted with cheers as Namjoon started to speak. Slowly, the other members joined in, voicing their thanks. When it was my turn, I just held the mic up, sniffled and laughed. I don't think I could've managed much more. Jungkook gently took the mic out of my hands and quickly dabbed at his eyes before speaking.
"I, uh, I don't think any of us were planning on crying tonight," he said with a small laugh, grinning when ARMY cheered loudly.
"We love you," I finally managed to say, standing on my tiptoes to speak into Jungkook's mic. "Truly. We love you all so much."
Namjoon held up his mic to his lips once more. "Let's stay young forever together," he announced, and the stadium erupted with cheers.
I thought it couldn't get much better than performing in Wembley, but I had been wrong. ARMY were the reason we were here, and they continued to support us. For that, we were forever grateful.
whoops awkward ending but oh well
