Katherine's POV

"Hey, did you hear about yesterday? " asks Kate when she reaches me at my locker.

"No, What happened?" I ask and place my textbook in the locker.

"There was a shooting and like ten people were found dead," she tells me and I turn to face her.

"Damn, did you know any of the people killed?" I ask her and close my locker.

"Well no. Dad told me yesterday night. Said Sebastian was there, You know since my dad is one of the heads of the the Crime Scene people, " she tells me as if showing off her fathers stupid position.

"Oh," I tell her as I show no interest in her little showing off and gossip.

"Didn't Sebastian tell you?" she asks as she follows behind me and tries to catch up to my pace.

I recall the call Savi had made to me,"Hey Katherine I'm on my way to a crime scene. Please tell me you and your brothers had nothing to do with it,"

His voice sounded irritated and part of me felt bad because I know Savi thinks that me and the boys use him as a person to clean up after our mess that we make,  but it's not like that.

"No, he didn't mention it," I lie to her and pause, " As you know detectives or any kind of people, including the head can't speak about the crime scenes," I finally tell her and leave her standing by the entrance to the gym.

The sound of the seniors speaking to each other while sitting on the bleachers is the only sound in the gym.

"Katherine, " I hear a voice scream. I turn my head and spot Dani waving me over to her. I start walking to her and start going up the stairs till I reach her.

"Hey," I tell her and set my backpack besides my feet.

"What did Kate want?" she asks and looks forward. I look to where she is looking and spot Kate standing there looking around like a lost puppy.

"She was telling me about the shooting yesterday and said Savi was there. The usual, her stupid gossip and showing off," I tell my best friend. At that moment the school principal walks in.

We listen to our principal explain to us the future events that will be happening on the next two months of our senior year. Finally an hour later she finishes her speech giving us around twenty minutes before class ends. I watch as the gym starts emptying out, some students lingering around.

"Have you seen the boys?" I ask her as we walk out of the gym.

"Mmm no, but I think that's them walking over there," she states and points towards the janitors closet.

We keep on walking and Nash, my younger brother, walks up to us.

"Hey guys," he says and we stop walking.

"Why aren't you in class?" I ask him.

"I just said I had to go to the bathroom and came looking for you since I saw a bunch of seniors walking passed my class,"
