Forty-Two days after Praimfaya
It had been eleven days since reality truly sank in for Amara—they were alone. Eleven days since Amara began to lose her mind. Eleven days later and the two girls were struggling to move the rubble from Polis so they could get to their friends and family. Amara and Clarke were always the ambitious type no matter what it came to. But somehow, it was lost.
The two girls stood on top of the rubble that had been left from Bekka's lab on the island. Clarke turned from where Amara was and grabbed her small black backpack. For miles upon miles, you could see everything. There was nothing left on this Earth that they lived on. Clarke pulled out her map and looked at it carefully as she dragged her finger from where they were to where Polis was. She quickly folded it back up and placed it back.
"At least we don't have to swim." Amara uttered as she picked at her nails while the two looked at the dried ocean.
"We should get moving." Clarke said as she began to walk forwards and they began their trek to Polis.
For the whole trek there, neither of them spoke unless it was the occasional questioning of Amara who asked for water and if they were going the right direction. By this point, everything was sand. The two carefully noticed the location and looked over at the stacked rocks that they instantly recognized. Clarke dropped her bag and grabbed the two shovels and tossed one to Amara. The two girls dropped to their knees and instantly began to dig. Amara's shovel hit something metal which caused Clarke to smirk at the girl before they continued to dig even faster.

Amara sat in the drivers seat of the newly found rover that they had left when they went to see Luna. Her brown eyes drifted over to Clarke who was struggling to stay awake. She turned her head back ahead as she continued to drive. Clarke's body woke up as she felt the rover come to a complete stop.
"There's not much left of it." Amara stated as the two hopped out of the car.
Polis was dead. Most of the buildings turned to rubble and the streets were filled with garbage and blood. Amara's eyes carefully examined the scene before they landed on a fountain that was broken.
"Wait. It could be dangerous." Clarke called out as she watched Amara jog over to the broken fountain.
Amara dropped to her knees as her fingers gently ran through the pile of red blood gathered on the concrete. Her eyes then shifted to the black blood just a few feet away from it.
