Chapter 3 The question

Jen's thoughts:

Oh God what do I do? He's coming this way. It's too late to run. She starts looking around to see if there is anybody around she can call over. Nope! Everybody is either at the car too far away or left already. Her heart starts to race again and the thoughts of the kiss starts flooding back to her. She feels the tingle on her lips. It's been so long since anybody has kissed her that way. Her heart speeds up with every step he takes getting closer and closer to her until he's right there in front of her. Then all of a sudden she feels a tap on her shoulder. As she turns around she sees JC. Out of nowhere he comes and saves her. Oh how happy I am to see you.

JC: Hey! Sorry I hope I'm not interrupting anything. Can I just talk to you in private for a minute? It will be real quick I swear.

Jen: Yea, you did say earlier that you wanted to ask me something. I completely forgot. I am so sorry. Vic, can you excuse us?

Vic: Yea, no problem. I will just wait right here.

JC: Thanks man, it will be real quick, promise.

Jen and Jc take a few steps to be out of earshot. As soon as they turn to walk away Vic's mind starts flooding with all these thoughts. The first is he has to talk to Jen about what happened. Second, he needs to know what is going on with JC. Why is it that he keeps on coming in and interrupting at the worst time. Okay, I just need to keep calm until I know more. He thinks to himself.

JC: I'm sorry if I interrupted anything back there. I wanted to talk to you about something, well more like somebody.

Jen: No, it's okay really. What's going on?

JC: Well, I have known you for awhile now. And I have a lot of respect and love for you. Your such a smart and great person. 

Jen: Awe, that's so sweet. You know I think the same about you.

JC: Thank you! But you know I am a very honest and straight up person.

Jen: Yea, that's what I love about you.

JC: That being said. I know that your going through a lot of stuff right now. But I really need to ask you this. I can't wait any longer. My heart just can't handle holding it in anymore.

Jen: Uh, where is this going? What is going on?

JC: All those great qualities that you have. I see them all in Essie and more. I want to be with her. But I want to ask your permission first. I respect you to much as my friend and as her mother. I don't want to go behind your back. So if you tell me that no, I will respect that. I wont like it but I will respect your wishes. I want you to be okay with it though. Please tell me your okay with it?

Jen: Wow! You had me worried for a second there. But of course I would be okay with it. Why wouldn't I? That really means a lot to me that you would even ask me. I have more respect for you for doing that. So don't ruin that. (she laughs) Seriously, don't. (She says with her face very serious)

JC: Oh don't worry I won't. That really means a lot to me. Thank you so much.

They both hug and he gives her a kiss on the cheek. As he does that he sees Vic staring at them pretty hard from over there. What's that all about?

JC: Now, can you do me one last favor and bring her to the show tomorrow night?

Jen: Yea, of course. Bret wants us to come too. I think he may actually ask Anna out finally.

JC: Really? It's as though they're together already. Alright, well Vic looks like he's getting really antsy over there. What's up with that?

Jen: Nothing. He said he wanted to talk to me about something. Probably just a medical question. Nothing you need to worry about. I promise, it's fine. I will talk to you tomorrow.
