Ch 3 - Talking

Y/n's POV

I walk into the lower part of the hospital, exahusted. I've work 15 hours and still have 9 more to go. I haven't had a page in quite sometime so I thought I could take a little nap. I find a nice bed in the hall way and lay down, my eye lids just collapse and it doesn't seem like they can open. I hear foot steps coming from down the hallway but I'm too tired to get up or even open my eyes. I feel someone sit at the bed on the other side of the hall. I opened one eyes to see who it was. To my surprise it was Dr. Parker face down into a pillow... What the hell? 

"Have we met somewhere?" He asks through the pillow. Have I met him? I don't recall meeting him before the internship.

"No this is the first time I'm meeting you other than this internship..." I say. He just kinda shrugs it off, he then sits up while a strand of hair on his head is stood straight up. I chuckle and try to contain my laughter, he looks adorable even with a bit of bed head. Y/N STOP THESE THOUGHTS AT ONCE!

"What's so funny? Ugh never mind have you gotten Kali's MRI results?" He asks.

"Oh right I have them here." I say looking next to the bed and grab the packet. I hand it to him regretting not bringing it to him as soon as I got it because he looks super mad.

"Were you really going to sleep even though you have these?" He started to raise his voice walking closer to me. The next this I know he is inches away from my face, while looking straight into my eyes until he realizes the situation.

"J-just don't do it again... please." He walks to the window to look at the MRIs. He holds it up to the sunlight, but then rips them down and starts to walk fast towards Kali's room.

"Y/N follow me!" I was super confused, why is he freaking out so much? Kali is supposed to be discharged in a few weeks...

We finally reached Kali's room until he stops. He sits in the chair next to her room with his head in his hands.

"Dr. Parker what was on the MRIs?" I ask taking a seat next to him. He handed me the MRI sheet without lifting his head. I held one up to the light. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary from the left side, I put up a picture of the front. I was shocked to see that Kali's tumor her tumor has grown to a huge amount, I've never seen one at this degree.

"What are we going to do?" I ask. He didn't say a word.

"We are going to get that out right?" No response.

"We are going to save her right Dr.parker?!" I almost shout, just low enough for no one to really here. He stood up and looked me straight in the eyes.

"L/n, I don't think we can this tumor grew out of nowhere and it's so big if we try to get it out we might destroy her brain." He says in a low tone. I look at the floor.

I pushed the MRI results to his chest so he could grab it. He grabes the folder and looks at me confused.

"Y/n?" He asks, sounding worried. I turned and started to walk away. "Y/n!" I don't look back, I just keep walking I don't know where I don't feel well. I bump into a doctor and apologize.

"Hey there are you ok?" I hear a voice ask. I turn to see who it was, it Dr. Odinson. I quickly nod my head and apologize again and continue walking.

I quickly set the folder on the nurses station and run after Y/n. I start asking people if they've seen her and to some luck Thor saw her.

"Yeah man your intern didn't look so good." Thor says.

I thanked him and starting running in the direction Thor pointed to. Why should I care about her so much? She's an intern, she needs to learn. I don't want to let her be alone though, what's wrong with me!

Y/n POV

I make my way to the roof for some fresh air, it was stuffy in there. I finally make it up and put my hands on the railing and look at the city with a deep breath. I hear the door behind me open and close. I turn around quickly to see Dr. Parker looking at me.

"Dr. Parker I really apologize for leaving like that, it was childish and I know you're upset." I say looking at the ground.

"Peter." She says.

"What?"

"You can call me Peter when we are alone." She says walking to the railing along side me.

"Y'know Y/n you reminded a lot like myself my intern year, I cared so much and grew friendships with patients." He begins. I keep listening.

"Kali is a very special case now, we thought she would be able to go home but after seeing that MRI I have to tell her more bad news and the worst part about that is she was so excited to leave." He puts his hands to his face.

"We're not giving up on her right?" I ask.

"No of course not we are going to do everything we can." He says looking at the city.

"Good, thank you Peter"
