Reasons we can never be friends [Completed]

Arthit and his friends were sitting in the class, waiting for the lecturer to come. 

"Hey, I saw this new restaurant today near our college. Wanna go there after class?", asked Sharp.

"sure"

 Everyone agreed . Infact they were excited to go as it would be there first outing together as a group.

"Now only Phana is left. where is he?", wondered San.

Just then Phana entered, chatting with a girl. The said girl was very pretty and she had a flirty smile on her face. one could tell she was interested in Phana. But for Phana, nothing could be said. He looked in their direction and made his way.

"oh! oh!, he's fast. Already found a girl. Must be a charmer, with a face like that", remarked Thada.

Arthit made a face at that. sure. He's a devil in that charming face. wasn't she the girl he mentioned as cute yesterday, he thought. 

San and Arthit were sitting together in the front and Thada and Sharp were sitting behind them. There was an empty seat beside Arthit. San invited Phana to sit with them. But he went ahead and sat with Thada.

ofcourse, huffed Arthit.

The class went by, with barely any interaction between them. If there was any, to begin with.

They were at the restaurant which Thada had mentioned in the morning. Everybody was chatting and it can be said that their table was the liveliest.

" Come let's take a picture", suggested San.

Everyone huddled together. Arthit tried to stand away from Phana but it so happened, that he stood just behind him. Arthit cursed under his breath.

"1  2   3....smile"

"Hey Arthit, stop frowning, and Phana stop with that murderous look. smile", San said.

The photo that got clicked again was little better than before. Arthit was smiling forcefully and Phana had just quirked his mouth a little.

"you guys are no fun", San pouted.

They resumed their seats and their order arrived.

"Hey pass me the salt", Phana said.

Because Arthit was nearest to the salt, he extended it to Phana, and in the process, their hands brushed. Phana quickly withdrew his hand as if it got burned and the salt fell on the table.

"Look what you have done?", Phana yelled.

"Me?? It was you who withdrew his hand!!", Arthit yelled back.

Thada interrupted, " Guys chill, its just salt".

After that, the mood was ruined a little and everyone became silent. San kept looking between them with a thoughtful look on her face.

There was tension hanging in the air because of Arthit and Phana which was thankfully broken by Sharp.

Arthit declined the offer of San to be dropped home by Phana. Among them, only Phana owned a car, so he was responsible for dropping everybody home.

"Come on Arthit. Your home is on the way to Phana's home. Besides, it's night.", San said.

Arthit looked at her, then at Phana, who was just looking in front and not saying anything. Arthit didn't knew what Phana wanted, but he couldn't find a way to refuse San without raising suspicion. So very unwillingly, he sat at the back with Thada and Sharp.

They dropped Thada and Sharp first. when San got out of the car when they reached her home, Arthit got out too.

"I can go from here", reasoned Arthit. Because, he don't and can't dare to be alone with Phana. He was afraid that they would kill each other.

" come on Arthit, we talked about this. Now go sit in the front"

With San watching, Arthit, very hesitatingly sat in the front with Phana. He bade her goodbye as they drove.

All they way, there was a tense silence. Arthit dared not open his mouth. And Phana, with a blank expression, was driving his car. Behaving as if Arthit was invisible. For some reason, it angered Arthit.

The minutes ticked by slowly, and Arthit felt as if hours went by before he reached home.

He muttered a Thank you and got down. But Phana didn't acknowledge it and simply drove away.

Arthit cursed. It was as if the universe was against him. If being with Phana in the same college, same dept, same class, same friend circle was not enough. Now god has to go ahead and team them up for the class assignment.

He was still wondering what they will do when Phana thrust the assignment paper on him and told him to take care of it. Then went ahead with the new girl of his.

Arthit fumed, right, what was i thinking. Afterall, he is a hateful guy.
