Reasons we can never be friends [Completed]

Arthit was working on his assignment in his room when he received a text in the group chat.

It was the weekend, so San was asking everyone to come meet at a Popular restaurant.

Arthit read it and sighed. He silently cursed Phana and declined the offer, saying he needs to go to the library.  He had much work to do for their assignment.

He wondered what was god punishing him for. He had been a good boy all his life. He doesn't deserve to be treated like this. He packed some stuff and went downstairs.

As soon as he got out of his home, he blinked, surprised. Phana was waiting for him.

Arthit went near his car.

" Get in", Phana said.

Arthit stood there confused.

" You want to come or not? I'll drop you to the library."

Arthit wasn't getting it at all. What's with this dude. But he might as well get the free ride.

He got into the seat beside Phana and they drove on.

The whole ride was silent. Arthit was texting his school senior P'Sun. And was sometimes smiling.

Phana was driving with a sour face and occasionally glancing at Arthit.

In a few minutes, they reached the library and Arthit got down with a thank you. And went inside still texting. With Phana looking at his back.

For some reason, Phana was in a bad mood when he reached the restaurant. He was somewhat looking forward to this outing with his friends but something happened in the middle.

Oh yes Arthit happened. God knows why he always feel irritated with him and what possessed him to give Arthit a ride. He should avoid him. Yes.

"What's with the mournful face? It's like your girlfriend is cheating on you?", Joked San.

" What are you talking about? I don't have a girlfriend."

All of them looked questioningly at him.

"Yet"

" I knew it!! I bet you even have her photo in your mobile", teased Sharp.

"..........."

"Really? Show me", said San excitedly.

So Phana showed them her pic.

"She's looking cute in casual", said Sharp.

"Yeah... you lucky guy", added San.

"I think......I think San is cuter", said Thada.

All three looked at him. San made a gagging face. Sharp and Phana made fun of him.

" Oh oh....we have a lover boy here!!"

They cheered and whistled.

"Guys stop it", said San embarrassed.

Thada just smiled shyly.

While eating, San asked him.

"Pha, are you helping Arthit with the assignment?"

Phana felt pissed. That loud mouth blabbered to San about him.

"I am"

" You better be", San said threateningly.

And Phana felt she still doubted him. He needs to talk with Arthit.

On the way back, Phana received a text from Arthit, asking him to come to his home to discuss the assignment.

He didn't wanted to go, but grudgingly went there. He had to make some things clear.

He was standing outside Arthit's home and texted him to come out. But Arthit's mother saw him and invited him inside.

Hesitatingly he went inside. He was about to sit on the sofa when Arthit's mother sent him to Arthit's room.

Arthit was coming out of his room when Phana reached there.

"Oh"

They looked at each other. Then Arthit gave him the papers.

"I have finished it. You just have to read it."

"Ok"

"Wait. There is one more thing"

Arthit stepped back to enter his room. But as soon as he put his foot on the mat, it slipped.

Phana in an attempt to save him, quickly grabbed his hand, but instead fell on top of Arthit. And his lips touched Arthit's.

They both stared at each other wide eyed. Phana's heart hammering inside his chest. He laid there frozen.

But as if regaining his senses, he quickly got up and fled. Forgetting to help Arthit get up and even forgetting the papers.

He quickly descended the stairs. Got into the car and tried to calm down. But his mind refused to calm down and kept replaying the kiss.

This feeling was foreign to him and he wondered, what the hell just happened?
