Naruto is acting all weird.

I know he's a weird guy in general but he's been a little off since the night I went over to his place to take care of his injuries. He didn't follow me back to my place until a good ten minutes later. Even when he came over he sat in a corner and didn't say a word. Once or twice when my attention diverted to him briefly he'd be staring at me.

I wasn't the only one that noticed. Sasuke, who was sitting on the other side of Sakura on the floor in front of the projector, kicked my extended leg during one part of the movie and inclined his head subtly in Naruto's direction. All I did was shrug and tried to enjoy the rest of the movie.

That was Monday night.

It's Thursday afternoon now and I just finished my shop class. The sun was setting so there was still a good amount of light left for me to be able to walk back without one of my guy friends trying to run over to walk me back. It's getting darker though and a lot colder so eventually, I wouldn't mind their company. Sai had a class nearby so he already volunteered to.

Just as I reached the first floor of the engineering building, two students stood at the doorway. From where I stood, I couldn't see who it was right off the back. Two more steps and I could see the height difference of the people: one guy and one girl. Another step and -

Naruto?

What's he doing here?

He's not an engineering student, that much I know. Honestly we never really sat down and got around to talking about it. He wasn't even carrying a backpack so he wasn't coming from a class.

Now I'm very confused.

And the girl he was with was none other then the bitch on campus: Karin Uzumaki.

Apparently they're family but not really family. She was adopted or something into the family. Shikamaru tried to explain it all to me once but I didn't want to know. I know Naruto was a fuckboy but he said he's changing and I can see it. There was no need to dig up his past and make me understand.

I didn't want to get any closer just in case they see me. Karin was trying to worm her way up Naruto's stronger body but he kept his arms firmly crossed and his head turned outside.

"What, just gonna ignore me now?" I could hear her literally mew. My skin crawled with absolute disgust every time she reached out or ran her hand against his arms. If I were a braver soul, I would've walked right up to her and told her to keep her hands to herself.

Not because I'm jealous or anything. It's clear that the guy doesn't want to be bothered while he's doing whatever it is that he's doing.

Suddenly his head whipped in my direction, his blue eyes settled on me. The annoyance caused by the clingy girl gone just like that and replaced with the same warmth I've been slowly accustoming myself to.

"Yo!"

That was loud.

He uncrossed his arms and pushed the desperate girl back before making his way up to me. For some reason, he was using his body to shield me from having any view of Karin.

Or was he trying to stop her from seeing me.

"How was shop class?" Naruto asked the moment he was within earshot.

"How did you know I-I was here?"

"Kinda overheard Sasuke and Sai talking about it," he rubbed the back of his hair sheepishly. "Just kinda told them I'd come get you."
