Lover Boy -3-

Madelyn's POV

I got home and unlocked the door. I walked in and went to my room. 

I pulled up Spotify and decided to continue listening to 5 seconds of summer. I then texted Ashton just to get some background knowledge of his friends before I see them tomorrow. 

Madelyn: Hey Ashton

Ashton: Hey 

Madelyn: Just a question.... Who are your friends that I am meeting and what are they like?

Ashton: Well for starters, Calum is more of a party person, he plays bass, Luke who I have kinda told you about is a kind of quiet and reserved person, he plays guitar, and Michael is another party person just like Calum, he also plays guitar

Madelyn: That's good to know. So what is your band called

Ashton never answered back. I think his phone went dead.

- 1 hour later -

"Hey Mum," I said to her while she was carrying in the last of the stuff she got from the store. "Can you fix dinner tonight?" She asked me. "Yea of course," I answered."Because I have to go to work," Mum added. "Anytime," I answered. 

I fixed Sarah and I some dinner. I was surprised that she ate it because she usually never eats the stuff I cook. I guess she finally realized that this is all that I know how to cook. 

"Goodnight Sarah," I said while I walked down the hallway past her room that she had gone in. I walked down to my room and closed the door. I went to the floor and cracked open the floorboard to grab the pills.

I have never told anyone that I had them. They were depression pills. My mom didn't know because my dad took me to the appointment and he died in a car accident a few hours after and I swore that I would never tell anyone that I have a problem. I don't want people to assume I'm weak and treat me like a child.

I took them and a side effect to these pills is tiredness. It helps me sleep at night which is another reason why I take them. I made my way to the bed and drifted off to sleep. 

- The Next Day -

I woke up and remembered that today I got to hang with Ashton and his band. I quickly got dressed. I had my hair up in a messy bun with a band tee, black leggings, and my white converse. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. 

I went downstairs and checked what time it was. It was 11:00. Ashton just texted me.

Ashton: hey so you can come in 30 :) I'll send you the address later

Madelyn: Kk :) See you there

I got the address and saw that it would take about 15 minutes to get there so I went ahead to go get some gas before I went over there. "Mum, I'm heading over to a friends," I called. "Ok, be back soon," She answered. 

- 10 minutes later - 

I pulled into the gas station and pumped some gas. The time was now 11:20. Since I was closer it would only take 8 minutes to get over there. Ashton sent me the address and I put it in my GPS. I started the car and pulled out. 

-8 minutes later-

I got to Luke's house and walked to the door. I knocked and Ashton answered the door. "Hey, come on in," Ashton said. I followed him to the garage and once he opened the door everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at me. 

"Hi, I'm Madelyn," I said. "This is Luke," Ashton said and pointed to the blonde with a lip ring. "Hi," He said back. "This is Calum," He pointed to a dark haired boy. "Hello," Calum said. "And this is Michael," Ashton pointed to a red haired boy holding a guitar. "Hey," He said. "You can call me Mikey," He added. 

"So what's your band name?" I asked. I remembered when Ashton never answered my text so I figured I'd ask now. "5 seconds of summer," Luke answered. "Oh, I have actually listened to some of your music for the first time the other day. It was really good," I said. 

We sat there and talked for a little while. I got to know them well and it feels like I have known them for forever. They then played a few songs and we talked some more after that. 

"Hey guys it's getting late, my Mum probably wants me back soon so I have to go. It was nice getting to hear some of your music," I said. "I wish you could stay," Ashton said. "Yea me too but my Mum will kill me and she has to take a late shift at her job again so I have to go take care of my sister," I responded. 

After saying our goodbyes I left out the door and to my car. I got a text from Ashton.

Ashton: Today was great ;) Thanks for coming over <3

Madelyn: Yea I enjoyed it too :) Maybe we could hang out again

Ashton: Yea maybe next time just us :)

Madelyn: I'd enjoy that

Ashton's POV

I texted Madelyn after she left. Looks like we are going on a date. I smile to myself and the boys notice. 

"Oh Ashton's falling hard," Mikey said. "Yup he is really bad at hiding it, wimp," Calum added. "She is really hot though," Luke said. Calum and Mikey nod their heads. "Guys I can hear you," I said. 

"Not with all that texting you've got going on over there," Michael said. My cheeks turn red. "You really like her don't you," Calum said. "Yea," I answered rubbing my neck. 

"Was this what you were having a problem with the other day?" Luke asked. I nod my head. "And what I said convinced you to invite her over?" Luke added. I nod my head again. "I am good at this," Luke added. "How did you guys meet?" Calum asked.

I told them how we bumped into each other, the note, and the text messages. They all teased me about it for hours before we all went into the house and crashed on Luke's couch. "Goodnight mates," I said. "Goodnight lover boy," Calum said.
