AppleBloom awoke with a start. She couldn't remember where she was at first, but searching her mind, she figured it out. She took out her book and looked out the foggy window. It was dark. They looked at about-
AppleBloom squinted. It looked like the train was at Galloping Gorge. But that couldn't be right. AppleBloom stuffed her book into her bag as she walked along the train carts. It was as she suspected. Nopony was on the train but her and the conductor. Well, hopefully the conductor.
She shook this thought out of her brain. Of course the conductor was in the train. Otherwise they'd be off-track. But she was still scared. She found a train manual on a seat. She picked it up and began reading.
Finding something on the middle page, she scampered to the front of the train. She had read that a train could have no conductor but still be on-track. Opening the door to the head, AppleBloom gasped. The conductor was gone. She started to cry.
Galloping gorge passed, and she found the train in the Frozen North. This wasn't good. The Frozen North was at the edge of Equestria. Any longer and she would...... AppleBloom pushed the thought out of her mind and tried to steer the train away. But they were on a track. It was impossible.
AppleBloom shriveled up on the floor. She soon fell asleep. She couldn't do it. She was going to die before she would find her destiny. She drifted into unconscienceness.
