Tris's POV:
Tobias and I walk back to his apartment building , but instead of going to his room, we head to the roof. He begins to ask me some questions. "So, who was it who trapped you? I think I've got an idea, but you never know." "It's exactly who you'd expect. David." "I thought so. How long were you awake?" "Two days." "Wow, it was almost to easy to get you out." "I know. It felt strange to me too. Of course I was in there for two years, too." "Yeah, I know. The longest two years of my life. While you were gone, Zeke and Chris tried to set me up on dates. Every time I refused." "Why did you refuse? I was "dead"." "I guess I don't know either. But I'm glad I did." "Yeah. Me too."
Tobias's POV:
Tris is upset, I can tell. I also know that asking won't get it out of her, so instead I lean in and press my forehead against hers. "Don't worry. We're almost safe." She pulls away. "That's just it, Tobias. What if it's like this forever?" "Well, you're worth it Tris. I'm never letting you go, and nothing anyone can do will change my mind." I lean in and kiss her before she gets another word out. I begin to pull back but she wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me back to her. It doesn't matter, nothing matters. Except Tris's safety. I begin to remember many of the things she's done for me. Stepping between me and my father in my fear landscape, revealing her divergence during the abnegation raid so Eric wouldn't kill me, and even staying by my side after learning I was genetically damaged. Just thinking about these things forces me to pull her closer to me. After a while we head down to my apartment and go to bed.
