Today was finally the day Marinette would confess her love to Adrien. They had been friends for many years now, and she was always encouraging others to shoot for the stars and achieve theirs dreams. Much easier said than done, though.

She had been psyching herself up for days now. Ever since they had gone to the Winter Wonderland Formal in December, a few months ago, she could not take her mind off of him. Sure, she had had a crush on him since he gave her that simple black umbrella, but this was different. Marinette felt deep down she needed to tell him. If she did not, she was worried she might stress herself out too much.

Graduation was only a few weeks away. If she were to tell him, now was the time. If he did end up liking her back, then they could become a couple, possibly even spend time together romantically at college. Adrien and Marinette, along with Alya and Nino, were all going to the same college. They had all been offered a scholarship, of course after applying, and the college had options for each of their individual interests.

Alya has, undoubtedly, encouraged Marinette throughout the past few days. She was super supportive, continuously reminding Marinette what a great person she was. Marinette was only slightly nervous when the day came for the confession.

She woke up, excited. Marinette threw on her normal clothes, slipped on her shoes, and dashed downstairs to grab a quick croissant before rushing out the door. The bouncy girl skipped to school in a light mood. The time had come at last.

Seeing Alya at the top of the steps to the school, Marinette pranced to her best friend. "Hey, girl!" Alya greeted Marinette with a friendly smile. "You ready?"

Marinette nodded confidently. "Yeah! I've been practicing all week. It's now or never."

"You've got this! Remember to keep up that confidence."

"Mmhm."

"Hey, dudettes!" Nino was walking over with Adrien next to him.

Adrien waved and smiled. "Hey, Marinette, Alya. What's up?"

Marinette hesitated, but only for a second. "Can I have a word with you alone, Adrien?" she requested.

"Sure," Adrien looked a little taken aback, but he obliged. "Lead the way."

With a quick intake of breath, Marinette grabbed his hand and lead him off to the library, where no one would be.

"What's up?" Adrien asked when they had arrived.

"Adrien, I'm about to tell you something kinda huge, and I need you to hear me out. Okay?"

"Okay. Shoot."

Well, she had gotten this far. Marinette recalled Alya's final thumbs-up and began. "Adrien, ever since you gave me your umbrella that one rainy, dreary day, I haven't been able to get you out of my mind. The fact that we went to the Winter Formal didn't help.

"You're the first thing I think of when I awake, and the last when I fall asleep. No one has ever captured my heart like you have. No one has impacted me so hugely as you have. No one has made me feel so queasy, so awkward, so happy, so worthless, so amazing, so horrible, so beautiful in my entire life.

"We'll be going off to college and won't have as much time to spend with each other. That's why I'm telling you, Adrien Agreste... that I love you."

Silence. That is all that filled the air- silence.

Adrien's eyes widened as he took in everything she had said. Marinette really thought of him that way? That was so sweet. "I love you too, Marinette." Marinette's breath hitched. "You're one of my best friends."
