Alix was slouched over in geometry class when her ears perked up.

"Dude, I'm not telling her. She'll think it's a prank," she heard Kim's frustrated whisper to Max.

"Kim, the probability is fifty percent! She could like you back! You'll never know if you don't try!" Max whispered back encouragingly. Kim audibly sighed.

"I have a failing grade in math, but I'm pretty sure it's more like one percent."

Hm... Sounded like Kim was crushing on someone. Who could the lucky girl be? Alix rolled her eyes. Eh, who cared?

As the teacher droned on about finding the volume of a cylinder, Alix thought hard about the question she had asked herself. Did someone really care? Did she care?

Psh, nah. No way could she have feelings for Kim. He was way too cocky and rude for her. Right?

For the rest of the day, Alix questioned her thoughts and feelings about Kim. Did she really hate him? Or was her competitive
attitude toward him something more?

On her way out the school's doors, Alix kept her head down and tried to speed-walk to he dad's awaiting car. Her mission was ruined when Kim pulled her off to the side.

"We still on for Mecha Strike III?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"Whatever, loser."

"So, is that a yes?" Kim clarified as she turned and started walking back toward the doors. "Okay... Later, skater."

Alix rolled her eyes as she hopped down the steps and slid into the passenger seat of her dad's silver convertible. "Have a nice day, sweetie?"

"I guess," was the only reply she gave. The rest of the car ride was in silence.

When she got home, Alix rushed up the wooden stairs to her room. She slammed the door and flopped down onto her bed. Frustrated, she pressed her thumb and forefinger to her temple. What was she doing?

Alix rolled onto her side and looked at her pictures on the wall. Whenever she felt down, she always glanced at her wall of memories to remind herself of all the amazing people that surrounded her. Her eyes went from a picture of her, Mylene, Juleka, and Rose to the class photo to one of her and Kim.

She exhaled sharply, annoyed that he was doing this to her. If only she had not overheard his conversation with Max. Speaking of, she still wanted to know who he liked. Alix pulled out her phone and began to text Kim:
