Chapter 16: The Book Of Revelations (PT2)

I woke up and there were flashlights shinning brightly in my eyes. I sat up slowly and grabbed the bottle of water Jimin was holding out for me. "Do you guys really have to hit my head every time you do that?" They all laughed. "Sorry. It was my fault this time." said Jin. "It would have snatched you up if I hadn't." I smiled. "Thank you." I said. "No problem."

I looked around at the setting of where we were and it seemed that we were being protected by a tent like sheet. I saw and opening and crawled towards it and pierced my head through it and saw the creature that had abducted my brother. I suddenly felt hands wrap around my ankles and pull me inside the tent.

"Hey! What was that for!" I said annoyed. "Did you not see that thing out there? It's just waiting for the right time to kill one of us who dares go out there!" explained Jimin. "SHHH!!!!" said Jin. "Be quiet!!!" "Look. If your gonna talk, go into the other part of the tent please." Taehyung was sitting with his back towards everyone while facing the entryway for the other section of the tent. Everyone proceeded except Tae.

"You coming?" I asked. "No. I'm going to stay here for a while." he responded. I crawled behind the rest of them and sat down next to Jin. "Finally. A place where we can talk." I said my head was still throbbing so I drank some more water. "Where are we?" I asked. "We're somewhere off the trail of all of the exits. I don't know how we're going to find them. I mean, we're completely off the trail I had mapped out. I don't know where we are." he explained.

"One of us is going to have to go out there and figure it out." Jimin said. "And quite frankly I don't want to be the one to do so." I raised my hand and agreed with Jimin. "I guess I'll go." said Jin. "I'll go with you." said Suga. "There's only one problem." said Jimin. "You don't know exactly where to go."

I nodded in agreement. "That is true. If you don't know where your going then it doesn't make any sense to go anywhere at all. You're just putting yourself at an even higher risk then you already are." Suga looked in my direction. "Well if you have a better idea, please let us know." I paused for a moment. "I didn't think so. The only way we can get back on course is if we leave here and search."

"I think your forgetting one key thing Suga." I said calmly. "Which is?" "That that creature or monster or whatever you want to call it is sleeping right outside of here. One wrong move and it's game over for all of us."

"Gritter." Taehyung said. "It's called a Gritter." he said calmly while trying to hide his traumatization. "And how would you know?" asked Suga. Taehyung pulled out a book and dropped it in the middle of us. "Everything you need to know is in that book. Including where the exits are. So no one needs to leave the tent."

Taehyung crawled back into the other part of the tent. Jimin was the first to grab the book and look through its contents. "Wow. Taehyung as right. Everything we need to know is here." "Lemme see." I said. I grabbed the book and Jin and Suga came and surrounded me as I pulled up a page on Gritters.

"Gritters. A very rare species of creature that feed on the misfortunes that the person has experienced and the bad things that the person has done to other people. These things are also called "grit" which is how these creatures got there name." I stopped reading and looked off into the distance.

Jimin took the book and continued reading. "Once a gritter has taken all of this out of the one person, they then are able to take the form of anyone from that person's memory." "So we'll never be able to know who he really is if theres a gritter in the room and Namjoon." said Jin.

"I know my brother. Even if there are two versions of him. I know the real one." Suga turned the page and looked at a picture of what they look like. Underneath a caption of its physical attributes. "Some have a variation of eye colors and quantities. They have two long arms and have long pointy legs that can serve as deadly weapons." I read aloud.

"We need more then just this to protect ourselves." I said. "And there's only one way to get that." said Jimin. "We're going to have to go back to the safe room."
