Previously on Seventeen:

"We're not done." Jasper reminded me.

"I know," I hissed.

I pinned him to the ground.

"Get your filthy claws off me." He growled.

I shot a rainbow blast at him.

He coughed.

"I-is that the best you can do?" He laughed.

"Just shut up!" I screamed at him and slit his throat.

Blood gushed out of the wound.

"Good job, Nyan." Jasper managed to choke out.

My eyes widened as his body went limp.

---

I looked at Jasper's limp body.

I killed him.

I killed my brother.

Realization struck me like a truck and I found myself screaming.

Tears began to spill out of my eyes.

Pain flowed through my body but it wasn't from the wounds he inflicted. I didn't feel anything physically, but I felt everything mentally.

I clutched the limp body. He may have done terrible things but he was still my brother.

For years I thought he was dead, now he really is, all because of me.

I continued crying. I don't know how much time passed but Shadow was there and he let me grieve for as long as I needed.

The others awoke but I didn't pay attention to them.

I continued sobbing.

They tried to comfort me but I couldn't hear them.

Jasper's body started glowing.

"What?" I managed to meow.

He began to fade.

"Nononono!" I cried.

I tried to grasp his body but it was no use. He disappeared, just like Mom did.

"NO!" I screamed.

Leja and Stiria rushed to me and started to lick my pelt.

Their constant lapping lulled me to sleep.

I woke up in pain.

My wounds were treated but I still felt groggy.

"You're awake!" Shadow meowed in relief.

I looked away.

"How long have I been out?" I muttered.

There was a pause.

"A few hours." He answered.

"...How are you coping?" He hesitantly asked.

I curled into a ball instead of responding.

I felt his warm pelt against my back.

"You don't need to answer. Take all the time you need." He whispered.

My eyes began to water.

It's all my fault...

"No, it's not. You did what you were supposed to." Shadow meowed.
