*Anguish*

I knew a man
Who never knew anguish.
He didn't feel it
When he broke his bones.
He didn't feel it
When he failed his exams.
He didn't feel it
When his lover left
Without saying goodbye.
He didn't feel it
When his mother was
Welcomed in heaven with
Winged open arms of almighty.
He didn't feel it
When he was humiliated.
He didn't feel it
When he heard his father
Crumble in pain with swollen muscles.
He didn't feel it
When he lost his mother's
Last token of presence on earth.
He didn't feel it
When his wife screamed
Giving birth to his twin angels.
He didn't feel it
When one angel's breath
Was sniffed out abruptly in the night.
He didn't feel it,
When his companion
Left him for another man
And took his other angel away.
He didn't feel it
When he lost his home
To another's careless fire.
He didn't feel it
When he lost his legs,
That he used to run away.
Run away from the anguish
That he swore he never felt in his life.
Until,
The volcano exploded,
And he felt it all,
All at once,
For the remainder of
His dying last hitch.
Anguish.
Anguish.
Anguish.
Nothing.
