Colby's POV

After we left the kids area we decided to get some junk food breakfast from the Food Court. I was starting to feel a bit better from my waist down but it still hurt like a bitch. Especially from running around at the kids area but what can I say? The adrenaline just took over my body.

We started walking to see which restaurants were open considering it was still quite early. We saw that McDonalds was open. We still looked around to see if there were any other options. Subway was open but none of us wanted to a boring a sandwich. We looked and saw that the Pizza Hut there was open. We all agreed to buy maybe four pizzas. Hey we're all hungry and we have a big group.

While we were eating the Squad were asking us questions. "So how long have you guys been a thing?", asked Liza. "What was your guy's first date?", asked Kristen. "Did you guys bang yet?", asked Todd. "Guys chill out", said Erin. "We don't even know if they're dating", said Carly. Me and Sam had huge blushes on our faces. We looked at each other knew there was no way out. "U-um...", I stuttered out. "M-me and Sam aren't together...", I said very nervously. "But you guys like each other right?", asked Carly with look in her face saying Don't lie I already know you guys do which made me even more nervous. "U-uh...I d-don't know...". I looked next to me and Sam playing with his fingers. Even though he's trying to hide it I can tell he has a huge blush on his face. Everyone was looking at us. Some had smirks and some had soft smiles. "Oi!! You kids!! Your pizza's ready!!!", yelled the cashier. The dudes from the Squad ran over and got the pizza. Zane and Heath already had slices in their mouths. "Let's put Sam and Colby's relationship aside...for now! And let's eat!", said Scott. I knew we weren't getting out of this one.

Me and Sam were full. Probably because we don't really eat much which makes it harder to eat more than what we're used to. Although some people from the Squad were very different. Zane and Heath walked back very sassily with another whole pizza. Some tried get a slice but Zane smack their hands. "Nuh ugh!! You eat it you buy it!!", screamed Zane in a wannabe New Jersey accent which I thought was hilarious. "Trying to take our food! Nuh ugh bitch! You is tripping!", yelled Heath in the same accent as Zane's. They started eating it and soon they got full leaving about four slices. Carly and Erin tried taking the slices but Zane and Heath got very sassy. "Ex-squeeze me?! What is you think you doing?!", yelled Zane.

There were about five people in the food court with us. Two of them together in one table and three in another table. They were all staring at us. "Nuh ugh bitch we is taking this shit with us! Zane open mah man purse!", yelled Heath. Zane reached Heath's backpack and opened it. Heath walked to the Pizza Hut asking for a box and they gave him one. He sassily walked back and out the pizza in the box. He tried to stuff it in his backpack but his notebooks and binder was making it hard for him. Zane helped him squish the box and soon they closed the backpack.

After eating, me, Sam, and the Squad decided to head to the local arcade. Me and Sam suggested it because out of the whole Squad, only Todd and Scott went but only once. The arcade was decently huge and well organized.

You have the button and claw games in the middle. You have the puzzle games on the wall on the far right of the arcade. You had the classic racing racing games on the wall on the far left of the arcade. The games that require you to use your hands and legs were on the back wall with the prize corner in between them. And on the same wall the entrance door was on, were the shooting games.

We entered, me and Sam leading the way. We saw the person at the prize corner and ran over. It hurt to run but I couldn't help it. "Sam, Colby! Was wondering when you guys were coming back! How ya guys been?", asked the person who's name was Stephen. Every arcade freak knew him and he knew every arcade freak. Me and Sam would always come here but separately, before we met. "Oh you know high school and stuff how have you been?", asked Sam. "It's been alright. What are you guys even doing here? Don't you have school?". "Yeah but some stuff happened and we decided to leave with these guys", said Sam as he pointed his thumb back at the Squad. "I see...well don't do it often alright or else you can get in trouble...especially you Colby". Stephen turned to me with a serious look on his face. He knew about me and my parents considering that this place used to be my escape. I nodded. "Good...now...you guys remember where ya hid your stash?", asked Stephen.

Sam and I looked at each other. We turned back to Stephen and nodded. The Squad looked confused but they'll see right now what we mean. We ran away from each other to specific games. I saw Sam heading towards a shooting game that had those covers with the theme of the game on it. I ran to a specific car racing game and got hair clip that was hidden under the seat. I unscrewed the seat and saw my stash of money still there. I grabbed it, screwed the seat back and walked back. Sam came back with his stash. The Squad looked shocked at how much we have but still confused. "Ever since we started coming here almost everyday, Stephen would give us specific spots to put half of the money we brought to save for a day we didn't have money", I explained. "So is it just you two or...", asked David. Me and Sam nodded no. "There are more spots. Each for every arcade freak that comes by", Stephen explained. The Squad all nodded their heads, understanding. "So?! What are we waiting for let's play!", said Sam very excitingly.

Me and Sam gave the Squad a good amount of money to exchange for tokens and soon the raging started.

David was a boss at the puzzle games. Like...what?! Me and Sam would sneak glances and see David already beating the puzzles within minute. He was playing with Matt and of course Matt got very mad and soon went to play with Alex. Liza and Kristen were with the claw machines trying to win as much stuff animals as possible, although I feel like they were trying to break the glass more than playing. Scott and Todd were playing Air Hockey and oh boy did that puck go flying everywhere. (That actually happened between me and some friends oml) Zane and Heath were playing the Walking Dead game and screaming whenever they were shooting. Matt and Alex were playing the classic basketball game. Carly and Erin were playing the racing car games and each of them screamed when one would lose. Me and Sam did almost everything and of course ever since we started hanging out, we would always end our arcade day with...Dance Dance Revolution. It became tradition to end our gaming day with this game and seeing that it was already getting late we decided to play a few rounds before it was time to leave. It was a bit hard to play cuz of what happened to me but I managed and the metal bars behind us helped.

Me and Sam were both good at DDR, not to brag. We would always win the easy, normal, and hard rounds but we never seemed to pass the hardest level which is something me and him have dedicated our arcade selves to. We saw how late it was getting and decided to stop the game. We quickly put our extra money away in our spots and called out for the Squad. "Hey guys! It's getting pretty late so me and Colby are going to head home before our curfew!", yelled Sam. They all looked at us and nodded and continued.

Me and Sam always save our tickets until we have enough to get what we want. We looked at the same time and saw it. 5,000 tickets it costed and we were desperate. It was a camera that came along with a tri-pod. We've had a plan a for so long and that camera was going to help us. We looked at each other and said the same thing we always say after we see it. "Getting closer", we both said in unison.

We left. Me and Sam's houses were in the same street so we didn't have to worry to about splitting apart and being far away. The walk was full of jokes and laughs like always. My heart fluttered as Sam showed his cheerful smile. His eyes lit up whenever a funny joke was made and his laugh was the best.

Sam stopped and I got confused. "Um Colby...? You just past your house", Sam said as he chuckled. I blushed slightly and chuckled as well. "Oh damn...sorry got distracted...". "It's okay well...see ya tomorrow?", Sam said as his eyes lit up. "You already know the answer blondie", I smiled and walked back to my house. Today was a good day apart from what happened in the morning. I smiled as Sam came to my mind. As I walked in my parents just looked at me with emotionless faces and continued watching tv. I walked to my room and got ready for bed with Sam on my mind much more than usual.
