The Hybrid

chapter 3

You know those times when you're in bed awake but you are way to lazy to move at all, so you stay lying in bed staring at the ceiling? Well, that's what's happening to me right now.

 I woke up at least ten minutes ago but have been too lazy to move at all so, I'm just staring at the ceiling. I sighed out of boredom. I looked over at Percy's bed and saw that he was still asleep, which makes sense because it is three in the morning. 

I finally got out of bed and walked over to the desk. I grabbed a sticky note and wrote on it telling Percy that I'm going for a walk and probably down to the beach once again. I walked over to Percy's bed and put the sticky note on his forehead. I quickly got changed into a pair of blue jeans and a red flannel shirt. I quietly walked out of the cabin. I headed towards the forest on the far side of the camp and once I got there I just aimlessly started walking around. After walking around for about a half an hour, I stopped in front of a tree. I looked up and saw a landing in the tree. I started to climb the tree and sat down on the ledge. It wasn't very high up, maybe nine or ten feet. 

I started to think. 

Think about everything. About him threatening everyone I care about. About what is going to happen. 

Everything. 

Then I remembered, tonight is the full moon.

I felt my eyelids start to get heavier and eventually I let the darkness take over. 

~PERCY'S POV~

"Percy. Percy!" I heard someone laugh. I ignored them and turned onto my side. "Percy get up." I looked up and saw Annabeth looking down at me, while she was still laughing. 

"What's so funny?" I asked sitting up and yawning. She pointed at my forehead. I gave her a confused look. 

"You got a note right there." She said poking my forehead. I put my hand up to where she was pointing at. I grabbed the paper that was stuck to my head and started to read it. 

Went for  a walk through the forest on the far side of camp and will probably go to the beach after.

I looked over at Kat's bed and sure enough she wasn't there. 

"She went for a walk." I told Annabeth and she nodded. She sat down on the bed beside me as Hazel, Piper, Nico, Leo and Jason walked into the cabin. 

"Jason? Can you do me a favor?" I asked.

"Depends." 

"Can you go get Kat? She's either on the beach or in the forest." I told him. 

"Fine." He said walking out of the cabin. 

"So what's this plan you spoke of last night?" Leo asked. 

"Well, I don't know yet." I said. "I was kinda hoping you guy's would help me come up with a plan." I looked at them.

"Well then we better start coming up with a plan before Jason comes back with Kat." Piper said sitting on Kat's bed.

"What if we trick him?"

~KATHERINE'S POV~

"Kat. Kat! Kat." I heard a voice yell.  "Wow you really are Percy's sister. Kat wake up!"

"Five more minutes." I said rolling over. It was a bad idea. I forgot I was in a tree and ended up free falling. I closed my eyes and waited for the impact but it never came. I opened my eyes and saw that I was in Jason's arms. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Thank you." I said breathlessly and put my head on his chest. 

"Come on. Lets get you back to the cabin." He said about to put my down.

"Can you carry me?" I asked giving him the look that no one could say no to, especially Percy. He started at me for a couple of seconds and sighed. 

"Fine." He said as we started walking towards the cabin. It's not a far walk maybe five minutes. "Wait. Why were you in a tree?" 

"Well, I don't know." I said looking at him. "I was bored and thought that it would be a good idea to climb a tree, and then I ended up falling asleep. I didn't think anyone would scare me out of the tree." 

"That's lovely." Jason said. It was silent for a few moments before I broke it.

"Hey Jason?" I said. 

"Yeah?"

"You wanna help me pull a prank on Percy?" I asked smirking. He smiled and nodded. 

"What do you have in mind?" 

"I'm gonna pretend to be sleep and you're gonna pretend to start freaking out saying, I found her on the ground and she's not waking up, and then I wake up and scare him." I said smiling. 

"Got it." He smiled back. 

"Good. Now start running and yelling." I said closing my eyes. I felt Jason start running. 

"Percy! Percy!" Jason started yelling. 

"Jason?" I heard Percy ask. I heard a gasp. "Put her on the bed." I felt Jason put me down on my bed. 

"What happened?" I heard Annabeth ask. 

"I don't know. I just found her lying on the floor, I- I tried to wake her up but she wouldn't." I heard Jason stutter. I need to tell him after that he is a very good actor. I felt someone grab my hand and start shaking me. After a few seconds, they stopped 

"Kat, please wake up." I heard someone say. I took that as my queue.  I shot up and yelled. 

"Boo!" 

"AH!" They all screamed while me and Jason fell to the floor laughing.

"Katherine!" Percy yelled. "That wasn't funny!"

"I don't know Percy, it kinda was." Jason laughed. 

"You were in on this?" Annabeth asked trying to slow her breathing. He nodded. 

"I'm sorry guy's but ever since I woke up, I've just been so full of energy." I said still sitting on the bed. 

"Well at lease she's back to her normal self." Piper said. 

"For now."
