If Hunk could describe Lance in one word, it'd be talkative. No matter if the boy couldn't see, he sure did have a lot to talk about. He talked so much that Hunk would just end up listening until the end to say how he felt about things. But he didn't mind that. He loved listening to the boy's voice.. It wasn't soothing, nor was it annoying.. but it was Lance's voice and that's what made it special.
They were at school now, just sitting side by side as Science Lab partners. Hunk was in every single one of his classes, since he helped Lance around all of the time! Sometimes they'd get into trouble by the teachers because of Lance's jabbering, but overall, anytime he could hear Lance's voice was a good time.
The class went by quickly and soon enough, Hunk and him were walking the halls, side by side. But, not so surprisingly, there were stares. Hunk could feel them, not minding them really.. but to Lance, he couldn't stand being stared at by others. He could already feel their pity being bestowed onto him.
Lance didn't want to be pitied on.
"Dimwits.." Lance murmured to himself, not wanting anyone to hear him as he began to feel a little saddened. All he was known for in this school was being the "blind kid."
That wasn't him though.
They finally made it to the cafeteria, as it was lunch time anyways. They didn't need to stand in the line, mostly because Hunk had made lunches for the both of them. The Samoan's food always put a smile onto Lance's face, even the Samoan himself. But.. today seemed different.
Lance wasn't eating, and Hunk grew worried. The taller of the two sighed, "Lance.. something's wrong, I can tell. You're so.. down, suddenly. Did something happen or—" Hunk was cut off by Lance.
"It's nothing, Hunk. Don't worry." Lance smiled gently, beginning to eat the food he was given. Seasoned rice and steak. It tasted absolutely scrumptious and did end up making Lance smile more at the flavor. This made Hunk feel accomplished, smiling himself.
Hunk knew that something was off with Lance, though. The boy never was usually this quiet.. Perhaps something was on his mind, and the teen was determined to find out what that was exactly.
