Getting Bella out of her house goes by without any problem. Emmett, Alice, and Bella are in her truck on their way to Carlisle while Edward takes Adelaide to her house. The drive so far is silent and Adelaide can't stand it.

"Why are you doing all of this for me? And don't say because I'm your best friend because we both know that's bullshit."

His hands tighten on the wheel. "Adelaide can you just leave it be."

"No! Eddie, I need to know why you want to protect me more than Bella." she spits out the name venomously without meaning to.

"I don't know, Adie! Okay! But there's this burning in my chest whenever I think of you not by my side and it kills me."

"You can't be killed, Edward." she jokes and he sends her a glare that wipes the smile right off her face.

"Adelaide, I'm being serious."

"So am I." she mutters and he lets out a groan. A thought finally hits her and she lets out a gasp. "Wait, Momo and Tony! They were there too!"

"But they didn't put up a front, did not draw his attention. For all he knows they are vampires." she lets out a breath and he frowns.

"That still means he's after you, Adelaide."

"Better me than them."

Getting to her house, Adelaide has to take a deep breath. She's not ready to do this, to destroy her only family, but she needs to keep them safe.

She glances over at Edward and he spares her a meek grin. She reaches over and grabs his hand and squeezes it tightly in hers not wanting to let it go. Edward leans over and kisses her temple before opening her door and unbuckles her set belt.

"I can't do this." she whispers sadly.

"Yes, you can," he argues softly, pressing his forehead against hers. "I'm here for you all the way, Gwen Stacy."

"Thanks, Spidey." she whispers as the first tear falls and she quickly exits the car and runs up to her door debating what she's going to do.

She opens the front door before closing it softly. She leans against the door and lets the first sob leave her throat. She tries to cover the sound but knows she's been found out when she hears shuffling in the kitchen.

"Adie? Adie? Is that you?" comes Reyna's voice and the sobs come faster causing her mother to dart into the foyer. Reyna drops down next to her sobbing child and pulls her into a hug, smoothing away the fallen hair in her eyes. "Baby, what's wrong?"

"I'm in trouble, Mama." her voice isn't able to be heard so she clears her throat and speaks louder. "I'm leaving."

"What?" Reyna pulls away shocked.

Adelaide shakes off her arms and stands up, "I'm leaving. I'm done with Forks."

"Honey, I don't understand."

"Yes, you do! You know I've hated everything about this place."

"But your mate-"

"Is with another girl! My whole life has been nothing but disappointment! I need to get out of here before-" her sobs have turned to rage.

"Baby, just calm down and we'll figure this out a-as a family."

"You aren't my family! I don't have a real family! They were murdered by my own blood! So I'm finding my extended family, it's better than this hell!" she snarls out and Reyna's eyes fill with tears.
