A blood curdling scream leaves the brunette's mouth and with one final burst of energy, pushes him off her. His impact with the wall creates a dent as Adie slumps against the floor and stares unseeingly at the ceiling.

With a guttural growl, the glass from the ceiling reigns down on her as Edward flies through and in front of her in a perfect crouch. He turns to see her withering form and charges at James. The rest of the Cullens follow through the door and stop short at the bloody mess in front of them. Tony lets out a heart wrenching scream as she sees her dead mother laying a couple of feet away from her sister.

Adelaide struggles over to her mother and collapses next to her body. She grips her mother's hand so hard that the fragile bones break. It's when a new fresh wave of agonizing pain hits her does she arch her back and let loose a scream rivaling Bloody Mary's. Edward glances back at his mate and abandons James to his family.

Carlisle and Edward rush to Adelaide to see her eyes fluttering open and close. Carlisle checks for any injuries, finding her broken wrist. Knowing that's not the cause of her withering, Carlisle moves her hair away from her neck and sees the open wound. Edward lets out a growl and goes to rush at James, but Carlisle grabs his wrist and pulls him back down next to a whimpering Adie.

"She needs you more than your revenge."

"Eddie, Eddie, it hurts."

"Edward, you're going to have to." it's Tony's mournful voice.

"No! Never!"

"She may have a chance." Carlisle's smooth voice hits her senses and she cranes her head to face him. "See if you can suck the venom back out. The wound is fairly clean."

"Will that work?" Tony's voice is strained.

"I don't know," Carlisle states. "But we have to hurry."

"Carlisle, I..." Edward hesitates. "I don't know if I can do that." There is agony in his beautiful voice and Adelaide grasps his hand. His eyes meet hers and she smiles softly at him despite the pain.

"I trust you, Edward." she strongly states.

"It's your decision, Edward, either way. I can't help you. I have to get the bleeding on her head stopped if you're going to be taking blood from her neck."

"Edward!" her eyes close without her consent as she screams in agony. She opens her eyes after a moment and sees his wild eyes. His perfect face marred by indecision and pain.

"Tony, get me something to brace her arm!" Carlisle is bent over Adelaide, working on her head. "Edward, you must do it now, or it will be too late."

Edward's face is drawn and his aura is a wild of colors. She watches him with complete trust in her eyes and watches as his aura turns orange and his eyes hold determination. His jaw tightens and he grasps her uninjured hand and places a featherlight kiss on her knuckles. He moves her head to the side, making sure Carlisle can still work on the cut.

"Edward, wait!" Adie says desperately.

"Adelaide, we don't have time."

"I-I love you, okay." she is gasping in pain and tears unrelated to the pain cloud her vision. "I love you." She sees the confusion in his eyes and aura and just smiles and grips his hand tighter. "It's okay," she assures him. "I know."

She knows it will never happen.

He closes his eyes and looks away but at her gasp places his attention on her. Her eyes are turning a deep burgundy red laced with black.

He quickly places his lips at the base of her neck, teeth out, and begins to suck the venom out. At first, the pain is worse. She screams and thrashes against her sister's hold. Then she hears Momo, trying to calm her along with Alice. Someone holds her arms down and Carlisle locks her head in place in his stone arms.

Then, slowly, the pain vanishes and leaves her numb. She is released and she rolls her head to the side to smile at Edward.

"I knew you could do it."

His smile is brilliant but her eyes begin to close and he begins to panic.

"Stay, Adelaide, stay with me..."

"Is it all out?" Carlisle asks.

"Her blood tastes clean," Edward says quietly, still panicking at her closing eyes. "I can taste the morphine."

"Adelaide?" Carlisle calls to her.

"Mmmmm?"

"Is the fire gone?"

"Yes," sighs Adelaide and she smacks her lips. "Thank you, Edward."

"You gave me a pretty good scare there, Gwen Stacy."

"I know, I try."

The most beautiful sound erupts from Edward: his deep, melodious chuckle. Her eyes begin to close again.

"Adie?" Carlisle asks again.

She frowns at him; she just wants to sleep. "What?"

"Where is your father?"

Panic fills her and she looks around wildly. "I-I don't know."

Then she remembers and she lets out a cry.

"My mom!"

"I'm so sorry." Alice whispers.

"No! No! Please, no!"

"Adelaide," Tony's voice cracks. "It's gonna be okay. We'll get through this, together. But where's dad."

"Dad, he came with mom. B-but he's alive. Ja-James said I'd be joining her not them."

"Dallon, Alice go with Momo and Tony and scope the dance studio," Carlisle demands. "He's got to be here somewhere."

"Alice." she halts the pixie. "Alice, the video - he knew you, Alice, he knew where you came from." she stops as she is assaulted by a smell. "I smell gasoline."

"It's time to move her," Carlisle says.

"No, I want to sleep," complains Adelaide.

"You can sleep, baby, I'll carry you," Edward soothes her.

And then she's cradled to his chest and she slips into unconsciousness.
