ELINE

The more I think about it, the more confused I come. I mean, I remember clearly how Marco said that he doesn't have a girlfriend anymore. He said it at the party where we met.

Not like it matters to me whether he has one or not but still, why didn't he say anything. But then again, we haven't exactly talked about personal stuff. In the end I don't really know Marco at all.

All of this goes around in my head while I'm making my way home. Today I wanted to spend time with him, get to know him a bit more but after I saw the woman in his house I didn't know what to do. So I just sort of ran.

My phone beeps next to me and quickly I check who misses me. Erik.

He sends me a message asking would I want to hang out with him. I think about it for a moment before an idea strikes me. I only need a bit of help from someone.

I stop my car and take my phone. 'Sure who else will be there?'

After a while my phone rings. "Hey Erik."

"Hey, so I haven't asked anyone else to hang out with me because I thought we could do something together."

"Oh, um- like what?" I'm not really feeling like I want to hang out with him but if Mario is going to be there then I'm down for it.

I hear a moment of hesitate before he gives me an answer. "We could make some food?" Any other day I would have obliged and said yes but not today.

"I'm not hungry but how about we go and kick the footie?"

"Eline, I just came from practice." He sounds a bit tired but I do have a mission to do.

"Please, only for a while?"

He can't say no, he's my friend and I know, that no matter how tired he is, he'll come and kick the ball with me. I know, I'm being mean right now but I am trying to help Marco, in some way.

We decided to meet in front of the stadium. Looking at my attire I'm absolutely not ready to play football considering I'm wearing skinny jeans. I know I don't have time to go home and change so I have to bear with it and Erik's questioning.

When I arrive at the stadium I see Erik standing there already. I quickly check around to see whether I see the car I'm looking for. I think I might be able to remember how it looked like. But clearly I can't because there seems to be few similar looking ones all around.

"Hey again."

"Hey -," he takes a look at my legs and raises his eyebrows at me as a silent question 'what?'

I only shrug my shoulders and smile at him. Luckily and actually quite surprisingly he lets it go and together we make our way inside.

I'm not a huge fan of football and I'm not certainly good at it and there's no way I would have asked Erik to play with me if I was in my right mind. But obviously right now I am not. That one guy keeps messing with my head. Damn him and his secrets.

I was completely focused on my own little world that I didn't hear Erik's voice. He was waving at someone and I turned my head to look who exactly was he waving to.

Luck was partly on my side, and then partly not. Because there exactly stood the person I wanted to see and next to him stood the person I didn't want to see. Mario Götze with Marco Reus and everyone can think which one is which.

I wanted to meet Mario so I can have a small chat with him. He is Marco's one of the closest friends and I hoped to pull some strings and get some information out of him. But why the hell is Marco here?

Apparently it surprises Erik too because he is quick to do the bro hug thing with him. "What are you doing here? Are you recovering and starting to return back?"

Marco's eyes are on me and he doesn't seem to understand the question. He turns toward Erik and raises his eyebrows confirming my assumption.

Erik kindly asks his question again and Marco shakes his head. "Nah, I came to see Mario."

I narrow my eyes because that doesn't make any sense. Why didn't he just call him? I look at Marco, he looks at me. What I don't see is that Mario looks at us very knowingly and Erik looks at Marco.

Mario is the first to speak after that uncomfortable occurrence which only lasted few seconds. He smiles before saying: "We were about to go and watch Bayern Munchen's game and it would be great if you two come and join us."

I quickly look at Erik who smiles at me apologetically then nods his head. "We were going to play for a bit but that sounds great."

No it doesn't.

But here's my chance, if I somehow manage to get to talk with Mario alone, then it wouldn't be so bad. And I get to be with Marco.

Geez, since when have I been so whipped?

I nod my head as a confirmation and look at Marco. He seems very unenthusiastic and I really hope it's not because of me. Did his girlfriend tell him to stay away from me? But he actually told her to go when he saw me.

I snap out of my daydream when Mario claps his hands, "Great, then let's go!"

Marco opens his mouth to say something but the look Mario gives him seems to make him stay quiet. Marco flashes a look towards me and Erik and I keep my eyes on him. He sees my look again and rolls his eyes. I have no idea why he rolled his eyes but I have a feeling it wasn't for me.

This shall be an interesting evening.

A/N:
