MARCO
The quietness between us is calm and relaxing. It's weird how I don't even really know her and I can still be so calm and so at ease around her.
The music from the house can be heard and the laughter and chatting but still it was rather quiet. It was really nice.
My knee hurt so bad when I was standing up that I was sure it went into a bad position or something but slowly it's starting to disappear. I'm sure I could try to get up again but I don't want to leave just yet.
"So, what happened to your leg?"
I look at the girl beside me and shrug my shoulders. "I don't know. It was in a bad position or something."
She nods her head and that was it. It's quiet between us once again but this time it doesn't last long.
"So you're a football player huh? How long have you played?"
Damn it, why did she have to bring that up? "I've played since I was four." Short but strict answer.
"I've never been good at it, but I still kind of like it though. I have to come and see your games sometime."
I fake a small laugh and awkwardly answer her: "I'm not currently playing, my leg isn't having it."
She looks at my leg for a moment before chuckling. "Yeah, it totally seems like it. When will you play then?"
"I don't know. My leg is not completely healed yet so I have to wait till it's all good again."
Eline looks at me for a moment before giving me a bright smile. "You have to inform me immediately as you know when you'll play again. I'll be there to cheer for you!"
I fake a smile before giving her a nod of confirmed. "Yeah, okay."
Now she's starting to be a little annoying. Why does she keep talking about football, I'm not exactly interested about right now.
I see from the corner of my eye how she looks at her phone and then she turns her head towards me. "It's getting real late, are you able to get up now or do you want to sit here?"
"Yes, let's go inside. I will find Mario and I'll tell him to drive me home."
"Are you sure he's able to drive? Look over there?" I look to the direction her painted fingernail is pointing at and what I see makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.
There without a shirt is none other than fucking Mario Götze. He is completely shit-faced and he is dancing a drunk dance with a glass in his hand.
A sigh leaves my mouth before I slowly get up. Why does he always do this? For fucks sake, this is his friends' birthday party and he gets drunk.
I hear a laughter next to me and see Eline laughing at the sight. I roll my eyes before starting to make my way towards the house. Looks like I need to be the driver tonight, again.
"Is this like... normal for him?"
Eline is walking behind me while she's still laughing at Mario. With no hesitation I answer her question: "Well, particularly yes. He likes to have fun."
She laughs at my sentence. "Looks like he won't be the driver tonight. Are you able to drive or do you want me to drive you guys home?"
No no no and no.
"No thank you Eline. I think I'm able to drive, I only drank one beer. But thanks though."
But she doesn't let it slip that easily.
"But your leg? I'm sure you don't want it to get any worse right? Maybe I seriously should drive you two home tonight."I stop right in the patio and look at her. I give her a smile, to which she smiles brightly back. I look at her brown eyes and the way they shine in hope. She looks hopeful and worried and with that I sigh before saying: "Okay. Maybe it's better if you drive us home. Thanks Eline."
Then I walk inside. Music is louder than before and there are more people partying. People are getting more drunk as the night goes forward. I walk in front of Mario who looks like he can't even stand without wobbling anymore.
"Mario mate, maybe we should get going."
That makes him take a drowsy step away from me. "No, w-we can't go yet. I want to stay."
I shake my head and say: "Let's get going now, I think you've had enough."
Eline comes to stand next to me and she smiles at Mario. "Mario Götze, I will be the driver for you two tonight and I not gonna wait long."
Mario raises his eyebrows and looks at me suspiciously. I think I know what he's about to say and it's not anything good.
"Marco man. You've got a girlfriend don't you remember. Who is this girl?"
Bang. There it was, he seriously just said that. I can feel the little ache in my heart and without giving it a second thought I turn my back at him and say: "Mario, if you don't want to come then don't. I'm too tired to fight with you."
And from the corner of my eye I can see Eline looking at me before I start to make my way out of this damn house. I know I reacted a bit weirdly but honestly, I don't care about it at all.
I'm pissed with Mario because he bought Lena up, I'm pissed with him because he got so drunk and I'm pissed with myself because I'm such a sensitive little ass. Why can't I let it go, it's over and I have to move on.
Yet, I can't find the strength to let it go.
I sit on the porch of the house for a moment before I hear the door being slammed behind me.
Soon enough a girl sits beside me and then we both look at the sky. Her voice breaks the silence between us.
"You forgot to mention that you have a girlfriend." She says it so calmly and quietly that I have to think did she really even say it.
Her questioning look confirms me that she did say it. "I didn't forget to mention it because I don't have one."
"What?"
I roll my eyes before saying: "We broke up a while ago but Mario apparently forgot it."
"Oh, well, are you okay?"
I look at her for a moment and nod my head. "Yeah, I'm fine."
But I know that I'm not fine, I'm really not fine at all.
A/N:
I'm sorry for ending the chapter so stupidly but I had no choice. If I would have continued to write it, it would've been long as fuck. Anyways, if you care to comment and vote it would mean a lot! Thank y'all ♡
