Jughead Jones scowled as an exhausted Veronica Lodge let herself in the trailer.

Even after her parents surrendered and gave back all the properties they owned in Riverdale, the remaining Lodge still found a way to invade his place.

"What? It's not like I want to live here with you, Donnie Darko," Veronica rolled her eyes. "As if I had a choice!"

Jughead's scowl deepened when he actually found himself agreeing with her. She did not had a choice.

Her parents had given her to the Serpents as a peace treaty after their surrender. It was the only way that the Serpents would let the Lodges leave Riverdale alive.

So Hiram had signed a humiliating contract, giving away his only daughter to work as a maid to the Serpents. And since the Lodges had no more property in Riverdale, FP had so kindly taken the youngest Lodge in.

Hot water kept running down Veronica's back but she stood there, numb.

What if she had never come to Riverdale?
What if her daddy had never committed so many crimes?
What if...

Many scenarios crossed her mind, but she was sure that any other scenario would be better than what she was going through now. Cleaning till her back ached, yelling at drunk guys, hearing humiliating comments, losing everything she had—friends and family included.

"This isn't the Pembrooke! I'm sorry if you're not used to having limited water here, princess" Jughead yelled from outside.

Veronica slammed the tap off angrily as she quickly dried off and dressed and pushed past Jughead.

Flopping onto the sofa, where she slept, she closed her eyes and entered her dream world, which was not any better than reality.
