"You and I and nobody else/ Feeling feelings I never felt/ The way you got me under your spell/ Don't you keep it all to yourself...Just a touch of your love is enough to knock me off of my feet all week, just a touch of your lo-ove, just a touch of your lo-ove," Veronica sang her heart out at the White Wyrm.

It was karaoke night and Veronica, Cheryl and Toni were putting on a performance for the Serpents at the bar. Veronica sang lead, while Cheryl and Toni harmonised.

"Just a touch of your lo-o-o-o-ove, oh!" the music stopped and the crowd cheered.

Performing at the White Wyrm was the favorite part of Veronica's job. The music started again and Ed Sheeran's Shape of You played. The trio  continued to sing. Veronica loved singing. She could get lost in the music and sway to the intoxicating rhythm. When she sang, nothing was real. It was an escape to express her feelings through the music.

Song after song after song, Veronica put on her best performance. Jughead stood there, watching her in the crowd. Although her voice may not be as good as Josie's, there was something captivating about her voice and energy.

The music slowed down to a gentle yet expressive song. Veronica stopped dancing and stood still, clasping the microphone.

"Stay back, stay long, and you move on/ I stress, come close," Veronica's dark eyes glanced at Jughead. "Move on, please don't."

"I only told the moon, tonight up on the roof/ I told her that I'm scared that all my thoughts, they look like you/ I only told the moon, about the way you move/ I asked her to please tell me if you tell things to her too," Veronica's expressive eyes never left Jughead's throughout the song, and Jughead could not look away either.

It was as if Veronica were the only one on stage to Jughead. Her voice stirred up emotions inside him and he wanted to run, but like magnets, he was drawn to her.

"We only told the moon," Veronica ended softly.

Jughead left the bar to clear his thoughts. When he looked up, the full moon was shining brightly on him, as if waiting for him to talk to her.

"I see you enjoyed our performance," Veronica said to Jughead while wiping off her makeup on her bed. She kept her eyes on the small mirror in front of her.

"I left to talk to the moon," Jughead lay down on his bed with his hands behind his head.

"Why talk to the moon when there's a real person to talk to? The moon can't respond," Veronica wiped her lipstick off.

"Sometimes no response is better than one," Jughead looked up at the ceiling.

"Because you're afraid of the response?" she cleaned her brows. "I used to talk to the moon when I was lonely. And trust me, that was pretty often."

He agreed with her. "Sometimes, loneliness hurts more than physical pain. You said you were lonely...what changed?"

"I have an awesome room mate!" Veronica grinned at Jughead with her now clean, makeup-free face.

"Pft, flattery isn't going to get you anywhere," Jughead smirked.

"Mmhmm, and I don't have to talk to the moon anymore, because I have you," she rested her chin on her hands, facing Jughead. "But there is one thing that I tell the moon that I don't tell you."

Jughead rolled over, awaiting her answer.

"I tell her I think I like you, Jughead Jones."

He froze. He tried to speak but no words came out of his mouth.

"Veronica...I...don't...," he managed.

She grimaced. "Now you see why I only told the moon." She got up to the bathroom to hide her crestfallen face.

Jughead wanted to hit himself. That was not what he wanted to say. Darn it! Why couldn't he have said he liked her too? That would have made things much easier. It was humilating that he, the Serpent King, was such a coward when it came to Veronica Lodge!
