This is now nine years later where they are 15 turning sixteen soon. Btw this is now winter.
James walked past Anne but stopped when he saw she was staring at something. "What are staring at?" He asked but then saw that she was staring dream-like at it. "Or who?" He finished with a suspicious tone. He tried to meet where her eyes where then he saw. "Oh no no no no no I know you are not actually staring at him like that!" He yelled. "Anne! Do you actually like.................?" He couldn't find the words. "You actually like.....................BASH?!" She shushed him. "HE'S YEARS OLDER THAN YOU!" He continued. "Yes but he still looks the way he did when we were younger." She scolded. "You cant possibly like him." James shook his head. "Ever since I was a child I had an affection for him. Whenever he'd pick me up I would feel bolts going up my whole body. And he is so handsome." She said still looking at him. Her face lit up. "Im gonna go say hi!" She said walking away, James tried to stop her but she already left. So he decided to stand nearby and listen.
"Hi Bash." She smiled "Oh hello Anne. Woah you're getting so big and looking more like an adult than a teenager. You are also looking very lovely today." He complimented. Anne blushed red and tried to hide it with her cloak. "What are you doing?"she asked trying to change the subject. "Oh i just got back from hunting so I'm unloading." He replied. "Well when you're done would you like to go to the river? I'm sure it has changed since fall and summer." She offered. "Of course." He smiled. Her heart fluttered at it. She walked away to James, she already knew he was there. He was staring with his mouth completely opened. "Is that suppose to be like a date?!" He loudly whispered. "I wish. But he probably only thinks that it's just going to the river with me." She said back.
"I am so spying on them" thought James
Anne and Bash walked down the snowy hill to the river that was now frozen. It looked like crystals and was beautiful. "Wow." Anne said in awe. "And I thought it looked beautiful in spring." Bash said. "I'm going to see if I could stand on the ice." Anne said. "Please be very careful." Bash said in a worried tone. She stood on it very carefully but then it cracked and she fell. Bash rushed to her, pulling her out of the water. He brought her into her chambers, fired up the fireplace, and gave her a blanket and hot cocoa to warm up. He sat by her. "I told you to be careful." He said to her. "I'm sorry." She lowered her head. He put his arm around her shoulder which brought them closer. Her face went red and her body started to flutter. This was one of the moments she wished would last forever. They sat in silence so that all you can hear was the crackling of the fire. Bash then got up. "I suppose I should go now that you are better." He said. He almost walked out when Anne stopped him. "Wait." She said and walked over to him. "Thank you for saving me." She told him. Anne then leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He then looked at her and left without saying anything. "I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!" James yelled and appeared from a corner. "YOU WERE SPYING ON US?!" She yelled back. "WELL DUH BUT THAT IS BESIDES THE POINT... YOU KISSED HIM!!!" He yelled louder. Mary came in then. "Who kissed what?" She asked. "Uh...no-." Anne stuttered but James interrupted her. "ANNE KISSED BASH." James yelled. Mary looked at Anne in shock. "NO I DIDN'T!" Anne protested. "YES YOU DID! I SAW WITH MY OWN EYES!" He continued to yell. They started arguing and Mary left to go talk to Bash.
"Bash." Mary called out to him fro across the hallway. He turned around and saw her. She walked close to him so that barley anyone could hear. "Did Anne kiss you?" She asked. "Well yes but it was only on the cheek." He replied, pointing to the cheek she kissed. Mary was shocked and walked back to Anne.
"Anne." She came back into the room and looked at James. "Leave us please." Mary said. James nodded and left the room. "Anne I heard that you kissed Bash." Mary said to her. Anne turned a little red. "Now I know it was only on the cheek but I see the way you look at him. Anne, do you like Bash?" Anne shook her head. "Of course not." Anne lied. Mary didn't really believe her but decided to let her go on this one for now. So Mary just nodded and left. James came back in. "Why did you lie?" He asked. "What do you want me to just go on and tell her now?!" Anne raised her voice. "YES!" James yelled.
They had a ball a month later standing for Spring's Coming. James went over to Francis. "Father. How long until I rule?" He asked. "When my time is up." Francis replied. "Yes but when is that?" James asked again. "You never know." Francis said meekly.
Anne was out on the balcony when Bash came to her. "What are you doing out here?" He asked. "Its calm out here." She continued looking out. "Do you think I'll be a good queen?" She asked him. "Of course. You will rule Scotland and make good decisions." He said. She turned towards him. "But what if they don't want me to rule. What if I make a terrible decision and they want my head?" She got worried. "None of that will happen. You will be a great queen and a beautiful one. Why I bet you will have all of the nobles and others kings falling in love with you the moment you sit on the throne." She blushed bright red and Bash noticed. "Are you blushing?" He asked with a little bit of a laugh. "You flatter me." She smiled. "Have my charming skills gotten to you?" He smirked. "Yes and your looks." She said. "Did I flatter you so much that you wanna kiss me?" He joked. "That was a joke." He then added in. "Oh right I knew that." She lied again. "I should get going." She said and left.
