Point Of View: Connor
The faces of my two new partners, in all android and deviant related cases, occupies my mind.
Lieutenant Hank Anderson and Detective [Y/N] Manfred.
The android at the front desk informed me that neither of them have shown up to work today. It was to be expected from Lieutenant Anderson, but it must have seemed out of place for the office to be missing one of their head detectives.
I ask around, and I am soon shown the direction of their desks. Lieutenant Anderson's and Detective Manfred's desks are pushed together with another, empty desk, forming a "U" shape.
Seeing as both of my partners have yet to make an appearance, I decide to analyze their desk spaces, in an attempt to gather intel on them. I start over to Anderson's desk and scan the entirety of it.

Soon enough, I learn that Lieutenant Anderson has a dog, enjoys Heavy Metal music, supports local sports teams, and is against all androids. I also learn that Lieutenant Anderson used to be highly respected in the force. I wonder what changed.
I turn my head to Detective Manfred's desk. Immediately, I notice two framed pictures. The one closest to me is of a large dog, held by Detective Manfred. She's laughing. The other picture includes both [Y/N] and her dog, as well as an elderly man in a wheelchair, and another man who looks to be around the same age as the Detective. I do a quick facial scan and conclude the older man is Carl Manfred, world-renowned artist and the Detective's father. The other man turns out to not be a man at all. It is an android prototype from CyberLife.

|Status: Destroyed|In the picture, Detective Manfred is standing beside android model RK200, also known as "Markus." In front of the two sits Carl Manfred with the large dog laid out across his lap and wheelchair. They are all smiling, including the android.
Also on her desk is a smaller, unframed picture. In the photo, there were two smiling children. The boy looked much older, in his mid-teens most likely. The younger, smaller girl had a much larger smile on her face, almost like she wasn't just posing for a picture. Almost like she was genuinely that happy. Another facial scan and I conclude the girl is Detective Manfred, at about age 10. The boy is Leo Manfred, the biological son of Carl Manfred and half-brother to Detective [Y/N]. He was about 15 when the photo was taken.
The photos left out on her desk tell me that [Y/N] values family, but that she probably isn't as close with her half-brother as she would like to be.
ANALYZING: 100% COMPLETE
A quick scan tells me that Manfred is one of the highest ranking detectives in the DCPD, which is what landed her on my and Anderson's team. I learn that she and Anderson are also very close, due to the countless post-it-notes scattered over her workspace, signed by both her and Hank.
Learning all I can about both of my partners, I take a step away from their desks. As soon as I look up, Lieutenant Anderson is stood before me. I greet him just before Captain Fowler calls him away into his office. I decide it would be best to get used to my surroundings, seeing as I will be working here until my mission is accomplished.
I head over to a different desk, and I notice a magazine. The headline reads "Famous Painter Dies." It is about Carl Manfred, Detective Manfred's father. Perhaps that is the reason for her tardiness.
I head into the break room and I'm met with Detective Reed, from the night before, and another officer. Reed moves his attention to me, makes a few comments about how androids are taking everyone's jobs and promptly orders me to make him a coffee.
Just as I go to do it, I hear loud footsteps leading up to a smack. I turn around and see Detective Manfred hovering over a surprised Detective Reed. He was cradling his face but I catch a glimpse of a large, red mark.
"Cut it out, Gavin. You have no place to be ordering him around like that," she exclaims, glaring down at him.
"Oh, c'mon [Y/N], you know we were just goofing around. Weren't we, buddy?" He looks towards me, most likely awaiting a response. Before I open my mouth, Manfred cuts in again.
"Just leave him alone, buddy." Her small frame shakes with what seems to be anger, but this doesn't prevent her from pulling Gavin to his feet and leading him out of the break room.
On his way out, he gives her a wink and a "will do" before smirking at me. Detective [Y/N] sighs before shooing the other officer off. Her and I are alone in the break room, and she goes to make herself a cup of the coffee I almost gave Detective Reed, all the while eyeing me quizzically.
"So," she starts while the coffee machine whirs. "Who are you and why's Gavin got a larger stick up his butt than usual because of you?" She picks up her now filled to the brim coffee cup and takes a sip, still maintaining eye contact. I notice her eyes are red and puffy, possibly due to the mourning process.
"My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by-"
"CyberLife. Yeah yeah, we get it," Lieutenant Anderson cuts me off, walking into the room alongside Captain Fowler.
"Hey, Mr. Crabby, I think he was just about to tell me that himself," [Y/N] says, smiling softly and walking over to the two by the door. She nudges his arm, and looks disappointed when he doesn't nudge her back. He whispers something in her ear and her face goes blank, all except for the split second of worry in her eyes directed at him.
Captain Fowler clears his throat, "I see you've all met. Good, that makes my job easier. You three have been assigned to work together on any and all cases we get regarding androids, or, more specifically- deviants. Try not to kill each other," he looks to Lieutenant Anderson firmly, then more softly towards Detective Manfred, and walks out.
The Lieutenant walks out and [Y/N] walks slowly behind him, looking back to me while I follow her.
"Do not worry, Detective. I can not be killed and I do not feel pain. I will be alright," I reassure her. She laughs but I'm not sure why.
"That's good to know. Connor, was it? I'm Detective [Y/N] Manfred, but you can call me [Y/N]. It's nice to meet you." She reaches out to shake my hand as soon as we reach the desks. I grasp her hand and give a short, but firm shake. She smiles up at me, however it does not look genuine, and I return the smile with a small nod.
"Lieutenant, do you know if there are any spare desks I could use?" [Y/N] chuckles and Lieutenant Anderson gives me a look I don't quite understand.
"You can use that one." He points to the empty desk beside his and across from Detective Manfred's. I nod and sit down.
"Time to catch some deviants," [Y/N] laughs, loosely. I smile.
