-Cheryl POV-
On Monday, I woke up early to start off my day. I made myself breakfast and took a long and warm shower. I felt like a new person. Like my mother couldn't scare me anymore. Like I was fearless. Once I was ready, I headed outside and waited for Toni to come pick me up. I saw her ride up to my doorstep on her motorcycle. When she stopped the motorcycle, Toni took off her helmet. I watched as her long pink hair dropped out of the helmet and eyed her up and down. She was wearing a grey tank top with her serpent jacket and leather pants. I bit my lip as I looked at her, I could've swore she just got hotter as each second passed. "Ready to go?" She asked. I smiled and nodded. I got on the back of her motorcycle and we headed to school. I held on to Toni tightly as we made our way to Riverdale High and I wish I could just hold on to her forever. But of course, we arrived at our destination and we both hopped off the vehicle. We took off our helmets and Toni parked her bike. I saw her look me up and down as she came walking over to me. I was wearing a short-sleeved maroon shirt with leather shorts. She smirked, "Wow. You look... wow." I shrugged. "I always look amazing," I told her. She nodded, "of course you do." She winked and we linked arms and entered the school. I headed to my locker and Toni headed to hers. Once we had what we needed for the day, we sat in the student lounge. We sat on the couch, facing each other, interlocking our hands. "Toni, what's your home life like?" I asked. She looked at me for a moment until I spoke again, "I just wonder sometimes. You know so much about my family and home life, I've never heard about yours." Toni sighed and shuffled in her seat. "I- I don't really have a home at the moment. I used to live with my uncle because my parents died in an accident. Things were doing fine at my uncle's house," she started to say, "until I told him that I was interested in dating girls. He didn't take it as I thought he would. He kicked me out. I've been crashing at Sweet Pea and Fangs' house." I held my hand over my mouth and quickly rested it after I realized I was drawing attention. "Toni, if you want, you could come live with me." I suggested. Toni smiled at me. "Could I?" She asked. I nodded, "of course. I promise you can stay as long as you need to." Toni looked at me for a moment, she looked as if she were making her mind up whether she would move in or not. She nodded, "okay." Toni said, "I'll move in." I smiled at Toni and we leaned in for a quick kiss. I sighed and rubbed her cheek. "I'm sorry about your uncle." I said. "It's okay. If he can't accept me for me, I don't want to be crying over getting kicked out. He's not worth it." Toni remarked. I nodded, "I'll take care of you."-Toni POV-
Later that night, I arrived at Cheryl's house with a bag in my hand. I knocked on the door and waited for Cheryl to open it. I heard a click and saw the door open. "Hey," Cheryl said with a smile. She let me through the doorway and led me upstairs. "Here's your room, you can set your bag in here." She said as we walked past an empty room. "Thank you." I said as I set my bag down on the bed. I started to unpack as Cheryl sat down on the bed. "Do you need any help unpacking?" She asked. I shook my head, "you've already helped me so much, I think I got this." I kissed Cheryl's cheek and continued to unpack. She stood up, "I'm going to go downstairs, meet me down there when you're done? We can watch a movie if you want." I nodded. "Sounds perfect." I finished unpacking my things and sorted them out, then I headed downstairs to Cheryl. She was seated on the couch with a bowl of popcorn big enough for the two of us. I smiled and sat next to her. "So, what are we watching?" I asked. "I have two choices, Love Simon or The Edge of Seventeen?" Cheryl asked. I thought about it for a moment and then said, "Love Simon!" Cheryl smiled and popped in the movie. I would rest my head on her shoulder during the movie and I held her hand. At one point in the movie, Cheryl started to cry. It was a quiet cry, but she looked as if the movie meant a lot to her. She looked at me and smiled, I smiled back. Once the movie ended, I looked at Cheryl and intertwined my fingers in hers. "Cher, I saw you crying during the movie. I just want to know if you're okay." I said. Cheryl nodded, "Simon used to be a carefree kid and then he had to carry around this secret for a long time. It just makes me think about how many years I've had to act like I'm normal and how other people go through this same thing. It makes me think of the struggles that you and I face to be an open couple." I wiped away the tears on Cheryl's face and nodded. "You are normal, Cheryl. In fact, you are perfect. Sensational. We may struggle, but the outcome of it is the best feeling, the feeling of acceptance. As they say, at the end of a storm comes a rainbow." Cheryl smiled and cupped my cheeks in her hands. She looked into my eyes and said, "Toni, I love you. I love you more than I could ever love anyone else." I smiled, "I love you too." Our lips connected and my heart melted. I was home.
