"Take care, okay?" I fretted, panicked.

Jake gave me a reassuring smile, "I'll be fine, Jackie. In the mean time, go help Enoch with his thing."

"Speaking of Enoch, I think I've gotten myself a new man." I told Jake, grinning.

Jake gasped.

By gasp, I meant a loud, overly-dramatic gasp that made both Emma and Horace turn.

"Enoch?!" Jake exclaimed. "As in, 'I want to murder everyone' Enoch?!"

"Shh!" I shushed my best friend harshly. "God, Jacob. You're evil."

Jake laughed, before we both got quiet.

"You know, I'm sorry. About the whole 'Am I not enough' thing." Jake apologized, eyes sincere.

I smiled, "It's fine, Jake. We left that behind a long time ago."

Jake returned my smile, before Emma called out that it was time to go. Jake quickly enveloped me in a bear hug, before he disappeared with Emma and the rest of the kids.

I hastily grabbed my things and ran to Enoch, who was staring at the room full of skeletons before him.

"Come on, loverboy," I encouraged, patting him roughly on the back. "Let's do this."

I pretended not to see the wince and glare Enoch shot me.

Damn.

We should be called the Avengers.

Look at us, avenging Miss Peregrine.

The avenge party was on full blast, and we were slaying this entire thing.

The kids had managed to get the Hollows seen, by throwing gummies and snow on them. A truly marvelous idea by yours truly. Jake and Emma had run off to rescue the Ymbrynes, and to face Barron.

As for Enoch?

I grinned proudly as I watched the skeletons come to life, one by one, and proceeded to attack the Hollows.

Enoch ran out of the ship after them, coming to stop beside me.

"Not bad, dead-riser," I commented, watching as Enoch smiled to himself at his work. "Not bad at all."

I ran about the building, searching high and low for Jake. I knew he was headed for the tower, but where was the tower?

I honestly shouldn't even be let out anywhere.

Soon, I came to a door, with a giant rip in it.

I pushed the door open, seeing Barron confronting Jake.

"Jake!" I shrieked, running over to tackle Barron.

Well, unfortunately, I hadn't given that idea any thought.

With a swing of his arm, Barron sent me tumbling backwards.

"You stupid girl!" He hissed, walking over to where I was.

I glanced behind him at Jake. He was struggling to free the Ymbrynes.

I had to stall.

"I can't believe I told you my life story," I huffed, standing up. "About my undying love for Niall Horan."

Barron frowned in confusion for a moment, and I took it to my advantage.

I brought my knee up, kneeing him, well, there.

He doubled over, groaning in pain.

I let out a "Ha!", before Barron straightened, eyes ablaze.

Oh, crap.

His right hand shifted into a huge blade, one that could possible chop my entire head off.

I let out a scream, running in the opposite direction. Sadly, there wasn't any room left for me to run.

I was trapped.

Without much thinking, I slapped Barron on the shoulder.

To my amazement, a spark appeared from my hands, travelling to Barron's shirt, where a small flame ignited.

I gasped.

Holy cow, did I do that?

Barron didn't even seem bothered by the tiny flame. He raised his blade, grinning maliciously.

I put out my hands, mentally begging for the fire to reappear.

"Come on! Where'd you come from? Get more fire over here!" I yelled.

A strong gust of wind blew past us, which made me groan. I asked for fire, and they gave me wind.

But to my surprise, the wind made the flames grew bigger.

Barron let out a surprised shout, and as he brought down the blade on me, he stumbled backwards.

I cursed loudly as a felt a searing pain in my left thigh, as the blade cut the flesh.

Just then, Jake unlocked the cages holding the Ymbrynes, and they flew out, pecking at Barron in the process of escaping.

I would've normally cheered, but the pain in my leg was overbearing.

I sank to the ground, straightening my leg out in agony.

Holy shit.

I've never been wounded this deeply before.

Barron went over to attack Jake then, I think. I couldn't see straight. Couldn't think straight. I must have been losing too much blood.

As two more figures burst through the door, I looked up only to find that my vision had grown hazy.

I could faintly make out Emma and Enoch.

Enoch.

He had a crossbow pointed at Jake.

Wait, no, scratch that.

I frowned, seeing two Jake's. Was I losing my shit?

"Don't listen to him, I'm Jake!" One of the Jake's protested to Emma.

I looked confusedly between the two, wondering which was the imposter.

This was my best friend, and a man who wanted to kill everyone. Surely I could get it right.

I groaned softly as a sharp pain coursed through my leg.

I glanced up again, and to my horror, there was a Hollow. Standing right there, beside Jake.

My best friend saw it too, and immediately rushed to my side, away from the monster.

His face came into view.

"Jacqueline?"

His words were distant.

"Jacqueline!" He shouted again.

I'm fine. I'm totally fine.

Enoch's face was abruptly shoved into my line of sight then, as he crouched before me.

He threw Jake the cross bow, and I felt my body being picked off the ground, Enoch's arms wrapped tightly around my being.

The last thing I saw was the Hollow, bursting through the walls.
