1 year later

Brennan and I started dating 5 months ago when he got a helicopter to fly across the beach with the words 'annie, will you be my girlfriend'.

He was the best boyfriend I've ever had. Well considering I only had two. We both go to the same college, or we will. There's still a week of summer until school starts. I've forgotten about Hayden and what he did to me, I'm just living my happy life with the best boyfriend ever.

"Brennan!" I shout when I hear the front door open. "Brennan?"
No reply.

I walk to the door to see a red-faced, Brennan. I let him hang out with his 'bros' before school starts because they'll be all split up, but I didn't think he would be drinking, he's 19.

He started walking closer to me with anger in his eyes. He started to aggressively kiss me pinning me up against a wall. I tried pushing him off me but it didn't work.

"Brennan get off me!" He just pushed against me harder.
"Stop!"

After I said that he tried taking off shirt but I kicked him, you know where. He just got angrier. I've seen this look before. It looked too familiar. He looked like Hayden.

Not just regular Hayden, Brennan looked like Hayden right before he was about to hit me. I didn't want that to happen again, not because it would hurt.

But because I didn't want Brennan, the one I told all my Hayden stories to, my sweet, caring boyfriend. To be scary to me.

I ran up to him and then kissed him passionately and he kissed me back. Not aggressively, but the one my boyfriend would give. After we both stopped I looked at him. His face was still as red as it was before but his eyes were gentle and calm, like the ones I fell in love with.

I got out of the shower and walked into my room when I see a smiley Brennan on my bed. (just to clarify they don't have their own apartment, Brennan is just over her house)

"What are you doing here?" I say giggling because his smile is adorable.

"I can't watch a movie with my girlfriend?" He replied chuckling.

"Fine", I said "scoot over" he made some space for me and I was wrapped around his arms. "What movie?" I asked.

"Whatever you want to watch babe"

"MOANA!" He started to laugh and he sounded so cute. I looked up at him and it was like whatever happened today didn't matter and I kissed him.
