Recap (you don't have to read, just a refresher):
Kiandrea broke up and Joey's best friend comes to LA from Tennessee. Max meets her and they watch the Mean Girls movies- 1 and 2. Truth or Dare comes after that and Casey dares Max to kiss Joey. She refuses at first and then begins to kiss him. It turned into a mini makeout session and Casey sat back and let it happen until she got bored and broke them up.

{Y'all are gonna hate me for this; prepare yourselves}
I smiled weakly at Casey after she tapped on Joey's shoulder to break us up. I immediately panicked and ran out of the house, hearing a pair of footsteps running behind me. I heard thunder, so I looked into the sky to see that there were dark clouds rolling in closer to the overtop of my head. I kept running until I couldn't hear the footsteps behind me.
"Max!" A male voice screamed to me- it was Joey. I didn't look back and started to cry as I sat down on the bench, getting drenched from the pouring rain. As I felt a hand on my left shoulder, I shook it off, looking down.
"Talk to me, please, Max." Joey said softly.
"Leave me alone." I said.
"No." He wasn't going to leave.
"I said, leave me alone!" I shouted, sprinting from the bench into the road. He got up and walked to me. "I'm never going to leave you. Ever." He told me.
I looked away, crossing my arms. I didn't want him by my side. I was perfectly fine without him. He walked to the tree and punched it. "Shit!" He shouted, shaking his wrist. He crouched down towards the ground and put his head in his hands, still facing the tree.
Soon, he turned around about to say something and noticed something wrong. He gasped and pushed me out of the road. No later than a second later, a car came screeching by, followed by a thump and a figure flying through the air.
"Joey!" I shouted, running. I bent down next to him and began to cry. Oh god, was he dead? I set my fingers on the side of his neck that was facing up. I breathed a sigh of relief as I felt the steady pulses. He had blood running down his face which was washing away as the rain poured down. People started to crowd around, not including the driver of the car. I shouted for someone to call 911 as I had left my phone at Joey's house.
I saw a girl running to see what was the matter. She looked to be in her 30's and was pretty short. She looked down and saw Joey sprawled out on the gravel road. She immediately bent down and made sure everything was okay.
She seemed like she knew how to do everything, so I let her. I had no experience in saving someone's life, since I wasn't there with my dad when he got hit. I snapped out of the thought of my dad sitting in the hospital bed, fighting for his life.
"He's going to be okay." She set her hand on my arm.
"How do you know for sure?" I asked, looking up to her.
"Well, for starters, he's still breathing. It's a bit faster than normal, but that's only because he's just gotten hit and the impact of it just sped it up. He only has a few scrapes on his face and right arm, along with a possibly sprained or broken ankle. Only the minor injures here." She studied his body as she described each injury.
"How do you know so much?" I mumbled just loud enough for her to hear me.
"I work at the hospital in my hometown, in London. My name's Jennifer." She held out her hand. I shook it and smiled faintly. The sound of shrieking sirens filled my ears as I stood up from next to him. I was pushed back with Jennifer as the paramedics put him on a stretcher to bring him up in the ambulance.
