Zayn led me to the large office that was Mr. Smithson's. There were six chairs laid out before him; Zayn and I were the first ones there.
"Ah, Zayn. Early as usual. I see you've met our new agent," he said with a slight smile on his face.
"Indeed I have. She is very skilled with the use of a bow and arrow," he said smiling at me. I guess Zayn did have a nice side.
"Well that is good to hear," Mr Smithson said before three boys walked into the room as well.
One had curly, dark brown hair with green eyes. He sat down at the chair farthest to the right and winked at me. This one's a player.
The other boy had blonde hair and ocean blue eyes and came out just behind the curly-haired boy. From the way he laughed and joked with the other two boys, I could hear clearly in his voice that he was Irish.
The last one caught my eye at first glance. He had light brown hair that pulled slightly to the right, and his amazing blue eyes pierced into mine as he caught me staring. I turned my head quickly away before I started blushing.
"Boys. Barely made it as usual. Why can't you at least try to be as early as Zayn?" Mr. Smithson said.
"Because we actually have a life," the curly-haired boy said to him. He smiled at Zayn jokingly.
"Shut up, Harry," Zayn retorted, though he smiled back.
"I'm guessing you went to the archery room again? It's pretty near here, which is why I assume you're here so early," the blonde Irish one said.
"Hey, if I want to be as good as my father, I'll have to keep up the practice. Besides, our new agent here has only been here for an hour and she can already shoot an arrow better than I ever could, so I need to double up the practice," he said glancing at me.
"Oh yeah! You must be the new agent, Jenelle. Hi, I'm Niall Horan. I'm the chemical specialist's son. I can distinguish any element at quick glance, and I know what can be deadly and explosive or if it'll just start a minor chemical reaction," the Irish boy said to me.
"This is Harry Styles. He is the weapon specialist's son. He can deal with anything, like gadgets, lasers, and any kind of gun," Niall continued.
"And I can disable a bomb," Harry, the curly haired boy, proudly said.
"And this is Louis Tomlinson. He's the one who'll be conducting our every move during the mission, so technically, he's the mission leader. He's also Mr. Smithson's nephew," Niall said. I smiled at the cute boy with brown hair and blue eyes. He was really cute.
"Yes, hello Uncle David," Louis said with a smile to Mr. Smithson.
"Louis, in headquarters you call me Mr. Smithson. When we get home, you can call me Uncle David all you want," Mr. Smithson said with a sigh.
"Yes Unc- I mean Mr. Smithson," Louis said. Mr. Smithson just rolled his eyes.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your parents? You don't have to answer if you don't want to..." I said. I felt extremely bad for asking such a personal question, but I really wanted to know.
"Should you tell her the story or shall I?" Mr. Smithson said with sympathetic eyes to Louis.
"I'll tell it," Louis said. He hesitated for a moment then said, "When I was six years old, my father and mother were assigned to a mission in northern Russia. There had been some illegal weapons that some of the Russians had been secretly hiding.
When they infiltrated the warehouse, they set off one of the booby traps. The booby trap set off a series of explosives, and my parents were killed."
Louis looked away, not wanting to meet the eyes of anyone else in the room, not even his own uncle. My heart was so full of sympathy that I regretted even asking the question.
"Oh. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked..." my voice trailed off.
"No, no. It's best if you knew anyways," Louis said.
I gave up on protesting, so I just stayed silent. I glanced around the room and noticed an empty seat farthest to the left. Someone still hasn't arrived yet.
"I think someone is missing here," I said finally.
"Liam. Where is he?" Harry said.
"I don't know. The last time I saw him, he was training with Agent Payne, which by that I mean his father," Niall said.
There was a knock on the side of the door, and I turned to see a really cute boy who had been beaten pretty badly. His arm was wrapped in a temporary cast and there were bruises all over his face.
"I take it your practice with Agent Payne went well?" Mr. Smithson said to Liam.
"Yes; it took a lot for me to defeat him, but it was so worth it."
"How badly hurt is your father?" Mr. Smithson eyed him carefully.
"Black eye, sore torso, sore ankle, and a minor hamstring injury. He's very proud of me," Liam said with a prized smile.
"Glad to hear he's doing... Fine? By the way this is our new agent, Jenelle. She's here from the CIA and is a part of the HTF," Mr. Smithson featured to where I was sitting.
The boy named Liam eyed me with his large brown eyes smiled at me, and shook my hand.
"Liam Payne is the son of our physical defense specialist; he's our best fighter and hasn't been defeated in training once," Mr. Smithson said to me.
I nodded at Liam and said, "Impressive."
"Okay, since the HTF is now complete, we have to discuss the actual mission. There's a boarding school named Trilogy in southern London and, to be specific, we have detected massive amounts of radiation from near the school. We need you six to pose as young students and investigate the situation. Is that clear?" Mr. Smithson said.
"Yes, sir." We all replied.
"Now, you may all proceed to training. Today, it'll be weapon training with Agent Payne. You can sit out of training if you would like, Liam."
"No. I would love to be able to have the opportunity to fight someone else for once," Liam said and smiled shyly and me.
"Yeah, I'll just make sure to stay out of your way," Zayn said.
"Like that time you almost shot me with your arrow, Zayn?" Harry replied back with an even cheekier smile.
"It's not my fault you almost got in the way," Zayn said and rolled his eyes.
"Okay, get out of my office and continue your training, young agents!" Mr. Smithson.
