2 weeks later

I annoyingly picked up my phone as it rang. Checking the clock did not improve my mood, especially when I found out it was only 8:30 on a weekend. I didn't usually get up for another half hour.

"Hello?" I answered the phone grumpily, not checking the caller ID.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," my dad said.

"Sorry, Dad. But it's only 8:30 in the morning, and I love my sleep..." I said.

"Well, you get down to HQ soon. We have someone that we'd like for you to meet," said my father.

"Alright. I'll be down in 30," I said and sighed after I hung up the phone.

I wiggled out of my fuzzy purple comforter in my room and winced as I lifted my shoulder. It felt better now than 2 weeks ago, but my collarbone was still broken. I carefully lifted my arm sling and brushed my feet across the mahogany floor.

My stomach grumbled, and I opened the fridge to find something to eat. I smiled as I found my leftover green tea frapp from Starbucks and felt the cool drink go down my throat.

I walked down the stairs of the condo complex and headed to the elevator to HQ. I probably should've mentioned that our condo complex was actually for all the agents, and it was disguised so the agents could go in and out of HQ. I replied with a cheery good morning to all the agents walking in and out of the building, and the elevator made its descent.

Still in my pajamas, I walked around HQ and found my father in his office.

"Good morning, Dad," I said and grabbed a frappuccino out of the mini fridge.

"Hello. Sweetie, you know those drinks at bad for your lactose intolerance," he said and sighed.

"I can't help it. It's just that good," I said and took my first swig of the drink.

"Whatever you please. Just don't drink too much of that, okay?" he pleaded.

"Fine. Where's this person you've been wanting me to meet?" I said while playing with my hair and looking for split ends.

"He'll be here soon. I've just got a call from upstairs and he should be down here at any moment," my father said smiling unusually at me.

"Okay," I said while still trying to figure out what was going on. "In the meantime, I need to use the restroom. I've been needing to since this morning."

"Why didn't you go earlier?" my father replied back.

"I got lazy."

As I turned to walk out of his gray office and rush to the restroom, I abruptly ran into someone wearing a gray sweatshirt and a snapback, with his brown hair showing on the sides. I looked up at the boy. I was about to tell him off, and with my annoyed eyes I think it was obvious.

The annoyance faded from my face and the boy looked down and smiled at me.

"Hi, I'm the new agent."
