Noah

I was sitting in Spanish class, looking down at my notebook and tapping my pen on top of it as I wondered how the hell Amanda managed to fly towards the hoop and stay hanging from it. Yes, she is a gymnast, but it seemed impossible for a girl with her height.

Hey, I'm not calling her short or anything, even though I teased her about it yesterday, it's just that I can't even jump properly, even if I'm tall.. just kidding. It was amazing, but how the hell did she do that?

The bell rang, making me come back to reality. I grabbed my things and headed towards my locker to fetch my history books. I went inside the class, sat down and waited for Amanda to walk in. I knew she had come to school because I had seen her in lunch, but she wasn't in class. I assumed she was skipping again, so I just focused my attention on Mr. Smith, trying not to think too much about yesterday.

After grabbing my helmet and throwing my books inside my locker, I walked quickly outside and jumped onto my motorcycle. As I assured the helmet around my head, a voice interrupted me.

"Noah!" she shouted. Fuck, I thought. I sighed and turned around.

"Hey, Aubrey."

"I was looking for you," she said, "I was wondering if you would take me over to my house, like you took that Alexia girl."

"Were you stalking me?" I asked her.

"God, no! I saw Alexia get on your motorcycle the other day," she said.

"Her name's Amanda," I corrected her, "And I can't, I'm in a hurry."

"Where are you going to?" Aubrey asked, "I won't bother you."

"Why are you asking for a ride?" I replied, "You have your own car."

"It broke down this morning."

"I don't think so, I'm literally seeing it parked a few spaces from me," I said, pointing to her hot pink colored car.

"Shit, I told her to move it," I heard her mutter, "It's not working well, I told you."

"Whatever, Aubrey," I said, "I'll see you on Monday." As she opened her mouth to talk, I turned on my motorcycle and roared away as fast as I could. I went straight to the Field Sports Club, which is like a campus filled with sport fields. It has a lot of tennis, football, soccer, grass hockey, golf and baseball pitches. There is a gymnastics gym, a workout gym, a basketball court and a swimming pool inside the building.

I showed my membership to the guard and headed towards the locker room to change into something comfortable. I locked my things up, grabbed a ball and walked over to the basketball court.

I warmed up and started practicing some shots and new techniques. I still couldn't get my mind from the jump Amanda did yesterday. As soon as I was about to throw the ball, I heard a familiar voice coming from the corridor.

"Yeah, I've been practicing weeks for tomorrow's competition," the voice said, "I'm so nervous, my first competition after my accident."

"Don't stress over it," another voice replied, "And I heard you have a date afterward." I'll make a guess, Jack asked Amanda out.

"Hailey told you, didn't she?" Amanda said, "As though this date with Jack is a big deal."

"When did you meet him?"

"I met him this week after school,"'she replied, "I went to ask Noah for a ride and he was there, but acting really weird. I kind of ignored him because I was in a hurry, you know, trying to go home early to arrive here early."
