"I think I found the other camera!" Brandon says and quickly walks up to the other side of the backyard. Even though this camera is focussed on the whole backyard, it seems like you can see the pool area, too. I mean, it's a little further away but that shouldn't be a problem. Now, let's hope this one has a memory card in it. Kayla gets up on my shoulders and looks for the memory card.
"Got it!" she says and takes out the card. She gets off my shoulders and we quickly go back upstairs to Austin and Edwins room. We knock on the door and they immediately open the door, it's almost like they were waiting for us.
"We got some bad news..." I start and I look at Kayla, hoping she plays along.
"Yeah, neither of the cameras had memory cards inside. We're gonna have to find another way to prove Zion's innocence, before it's too late."
"Oh, no. Are you guys serious? Z, what are you gonna do now?" Edwin asks concerned at looks at me.
"I don't know, man... I guess KJ and I might really end up breaking up over this." I said, trying my best to sound sad and not laugh.
Not being able to hold their laughs any longer, Nick and Kayla start laughing the moment they make eye contact.
"Nah, we just playin'. We got a memory card." Nick confesses and Austin throws a pilow at him.
"Dude, not funny! We were about to cry for Zion. Him and KJ can't break up." He says and he chuckles.
"Well, we were about to lose our minds 'cause one of the cameras really didn't have a memory card." Brandon starts as he walks towards the bed and sits down. "The with the best view on the pool area didn't have a memory card, but we did get the other one. Does anyone's laptop take SD cards?"
"Yeah, mine!" Austin says, and gets his laptop out of his backpack on the floor. "Just pass me the card and I'll put it in."
"Dude, I love nerds. Y'all be smart as hell."
"Shut up, Z." Austin replies. After a few seconds of him typing and clicking stuff on his MacBook, he managed to retrieve the footage. "Okay, when did it happen?"
"Uh, today." Zion answers.
"No, dumbass, what time?"
"Oh! Around 11 P.M."
"Okay. I'll copy the footage from 11 till 11:30 from the folder, transfer it to my laptop and we can just watch that part until we find something. Austin says and we all gather on the bed to watch the footage.
It starts at 11 P.M. sharp and shows Jade in the pool, by herself. It's pretty clear and you can see a pretty big part of the pool area, including where it all happened. The other camera would've probably been better but so be it.
After 8 minutes, it shows her getting out of the pool and grabbing... A towel. A fucking towel. Which she asked me to bring.
"Z, didn't she ask you to bring her a towel?" Nick asks.
"Yes, she did." I start. "I think this is where she's gonna text me. She texted me at like 11:10." I say and a few second later, the footage shows her typing on her phone. The footage then shows her throwing away her towel and getting back in the pool.
"She hid the fucking towel..." I mumble to myself in disbelief.
It's 11:12 and the footage shows me appearing in the backyard, holding a towel. They all look at me but I keep my eyes glued to the screen. Jade gets out of the pool and I hand her the towel. She dries herself off, grabs her phone and then it happens. The footage shows how she's walking towards me, how she put her hands on my shoulders but more importantly, how she leaned in and tried to kiss me. I pause the video and sigh in relief.
