I sat in the car and watched the police carry the bodies out. My car door opened and Janet got in.

She handed me the jacket I put over Blaze's body, "You left this." She said. I took it and stared at it."I'm so sorry Kenny." She said.

"She didn't deserve that, she didn't do anything wrong besides take a bad man off the streets. He can't hurt anyone else and that makes her a hero. I was supposed to look out for her and I failed her..." I trailed off as my emotions took over.

"I'm sure that's not true."

"I wish this was a dream."

"I know this isn't the best time to give you this but..." She handed me Ricky's phone records. I looked through them putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Janet touched my shoulder, "If there's anything I can do..."

"There is actually." I said looking at her.

She pulled out her gun, "Where do we start?"

"Hi welcome to Oxford's Home for Children. Are you two looking to adopt?" The lady at the front desk asked us.

"Yes. We're looking for a specific child actually." JJ said.

"How old is this child?"

"She'd be about 4 months old now." I said.

"Hmm. Most of the time babies are the first to get adopted. You have a name?" She asked.

I sighed, "No."

"She would have been brought in by this guy." JJ said showing her a picture of Ricky.

"Oh I remember him. He wouldn't stop staring at my chest. He brought in a baby under the last name....Edmonds."

"What?" We asked in unison.

The lady showed us the papers, "Right here." She said. Sure enough it was. That means Ricky knew about Blaze and I.

"Is she still here?" I asked.

The lady checked her computer, "Umm...Yes! She is."

"I want her. She's mine and I wanna take her home." I said.

"Sir there's a lot that goes into that-"

"I DON'T CARE!"

"Kenny...take a breath." JJ said. I did as she said and she smiled at the woman, "Can we see her?"

"Right this way." She said getting up and guiding us down the hallway. She took us to the room and my heart skipped a beat when I was the baby...my baby.

"Oh my God." I whispered.

"She's beautiful." JJ said watching me pick her up.

"Hey, I'm your Dad." I said to the little girl in my arms. She smiled up at me, "Wow. If only your mother could see you."

"Sir..."

"I'm Kenny Edmonds, I'm her father. What can I do to get her home with me?" I asked the woman.

"We need to do a DNA test. Since she was brought here without your knowledge, it should be a little easier." She stated.

"Okay. How long will it take?"

"I can make it as short as 2 days."

I thought it over I know it's not that long but as soon as I held this little princess I got attached.

"Kenny, two days isn't that bad. It gives you time to get things in order." JJ said.

"I will do everything in my power to help." The woman said.

"Okay." I said. I put the baby down and we went to do the the test. It took about 15 minutes and we were done.

"I'll see you soon." The woman said before we left.

"What are we doing here? I thought we were going after the asshole that did this." JJ asked as we pulled up to the prison.

"We are, I just have to talk to B first. I don't want him to hear this anywhere else." I told her. She nodded in agreement as I got out of the car.

After signing in I went to the visitation room and they brought B out.

"What's up?" He asked surprised to see me a second day.

"Sit down."

"What's going on? Is Blaze okay?"

I sighed heavily shaking my head, "I'm sorry..." I started. I began to explain everything that happened. I actually saw a tear leave his eye as he listened.

"You told me you would take care of her!!" He yelled.

"I know. I tried!" I said. He shook his head before hitting the table."I'm gonna fix this, I promise." I told him.

"Fuck your promises. There's nothing to fix." He said standing up and going to the door. The guards came and got him as I stood.

"B..." I called but he ignored me as he walked out.

"How'd it go?" JJ asked as I got back in the car.

"Worse than I thought." I told her.

"Let's make this right." She said. I nodded as I started driving.
