"My condolences Mr. and Mrs. Finnelo. I know this must be hard for you, but I need to ask some questions so my team and I can put this guy behind bars." I said to Ricky's parents.
"We'll tell you anything you wanna know." His father said.
"Did Ricky have any enemies? Anyone who would want him dead?"
"No. My Ricky was a good boy. Everyone loved him." His mother said before breaking down again.
Ricky's father pulled me to the side as his mother collected herself. "Ricky was dealing with some bad guys before he became an officer. He made a lot of enemies before and after he turned his life around...you find the son of a bitch that did this." He told me.
I nodded, "I will. Thanks for your honesty."

"So who were these bad guys?" Janet asked as we looked through some old police files on the computer.
"Either drug dealers or mobsters." I said.
"Or both."
I looked up, "Huh?"
She clicked on a file with Ricky's name on it, "Before Ricky became a cop he was arrested 7 times with a gang called The Mavericks. One of the gang member's Dad was a lawyer. They all got off and their records were sealed."
"If the records are sealed, how did you get into it?" I asked suspiciously.
She smirked, "That's for me to know and you never to find out. Anyway, the Mavericks were enemies of one of the most dangerous gangs in this area."
"Which is?"
"The Cardinals." She said making me sigh. That's Blaze and her husband's crew.
"All these damn birds." I mumbled.
"Birds of a feather..."
I put my hand up to silence her, "Don't finish that." I said as she chuckled.

"Kenny, good to see you. What you doing here?" Byrd asked me as he came down the steps. He's the leader of the Cardinals and Blaze's husband.

"I umm...I came to talk to you." I lied. I came to fuck his wife but that's none of his business. Plus, I could use some new information.
B sighed, "Kenny you know I ain't no snitch. The only reason I even talk to you is because er'body around here think you my cousin."
I threw my arm over his shoulder, "Well cousin, I'm not asking you to snitch. I'm just curious about a certain gang. The Mavericks."
"Oh, that old washed up Italian book club head ass gang? They used to run shit back in the day but not no more. I run these streets now." He said.
I showed him a picture of Ricky, "You know him?"
"That's Finn, he ran deep with them but he was working for me too."
"How long ago was this?"
"He was still workin for me when he died. He was my informant until one of those Maverick bitches shot him."
Bingo. Now I just have to find out which one.
"I heard he was was yo nigga man, sorry for ya loss."
"Uh...Thanks...What happened to you head?"
He shook his head, "You know me and Blaze get little rough when we're mad. Look I gotta go. Good seeing you." He said hopping in the back of a black benz as one of his workers held the door open for him.
"Likewise." I said before they closed the door and drove away. I waited for a while before going upstairs into the condo.
"Blaze? Blaze?!" I yelled looking around.
She appeared in her bedroom doorway, "Yes Kenny?" She said. I looked at her face. She had a few small bruises. She pulled away, "I'm fine. We go through this like twice a week. We fight hard but we love harder."
"That's not love."
"Right, because love is cheating on your pregnant wife." She said walking away.
I grabbed her arm, "What the hell did you say?"
"Nothing!"
I sighed, "I'm sorry. Look, I care about you a lot. I just want better for you."
"I care about you too. B and I are good. We love each other and he needs me just as much as I need him. Okay? So can we drop it?" She said through the mirror after putting makeup on.
"Fine."
"Come here." She said and I obliged. She wrapped her arms around my neck. She slowly pecked my lips, "I've been thinking about you all day..."
"Oh really? Well what were you thinking?"
She unbuckled my pants and we got busy.

"Baby?! I'm home!" I said walking through my house.
"Seriously Kenny? I had a doctor's appointment today and you missed it." Nadia scolded me.
"Shit baby, I'm sorry. This situation with Ricky has had me so distracted. How did it go?"
"It went well, his heartbeat is strong."
"That's great." I said feeling her stomach. I can't wait to meet my little prince.
"Did you get some new leads?"
"Well I narrowed it down to one gang. I also learned some things about Ricky I didn't know."
"Like what?"
"He was still working with drug dealers. Yet, he looked down on everyone else like he was some type of saint." I said annoyed at the whole case.
Ricky used to beat the shit out of every drug dealer he arrested, talking about they're poisoning our children. All this time he was a hypocrite.
Nadia rubbed my shoulder, "I'm sorry baby. Just don't let that get to you. Find the person that killed him and bring them to justice. Then we can put all of this behind us."
