6 months later...
The sun shines brightly in my face as I walked out on the balcony and saw my angel dressed in a white sundress. She was enjoying the view of the ocean as I wrapped my arms around her.
She looked at me and smiled,"Baby everything is perfect. I love you so much."
"I love you too." I said before kissing her lips.
"I have to go now." She said making my smile disappear.
"No. Where are you going?" I asked. She smiled before disappearing.
"Blaze!" I yelled waking myself up. I looked around the room and laid back down.
It's been six long months since everything went down. Nadia didn't even make it out of the hospital. Joey's cousin was soon arrested for murder after giving her a mixture of drugs that eventually stopped her heart.
B was released when Janet found some way to prove he didn't kill Ricky. He moved to away and no one has heard from him since. Janet got a big ass promotion and she's now the Chief. She and Nathan got married last month. They come to see me and the kids in their vacation and holiday time.
After I got full custody of both of my children I decided to go ahead and move to Savannah. Blaze was right the simplicity of it all brings happiness. I still dream about her every night. The funeral was sad yet beautiful. Her parents met our daughter.
It turns out they own a country club out here in Savannah. I think that's why she wanted to come here; to be closer to them. They love both of the kids so much and they babysit whenever I'm at work.
I got out of bed and walked down the hall. I passed the gigantic photo of Blaze on the wall.
I snuck the picture one night when we were on one of our rendezvous and I recently got it enlarged and put in the house. She may not be here physically but she's here in spirit.
I then into the nursery and looked at my children.
My son, Kaden Brian Edmonds, was fast asleep. I swear this boy will sleep all day if you let him. Hes the easiest to deal with though.
Savannah was wide awake smiling at something. She's a night owl and no matter how late it is she just wants to play. She looked just like her mother. I looked in her crib and smiled.
She looked up at me and I swear I felt Blaze's presence. However, this was normal. That's why I gave her the name that I woke up calling every night. Savannah Blaze Edmonds.
Being a single dad is tough but it's the best job in the world. My children mean the world to me. My whole life will forever be dedicated to protecting them.As for me I'm the new Police Chief here in Georgia. Everything else is pretty much the same and I'm glad. I've been through hell and it all started with someone who I thought was my friend, putting on this charade of being a good person when in reality, he was bringing turmoil to anyone that met him.
I've lost a lot and gained a lot. I've learned that everything isn't what it seems. That lesson alone has made me a wiser.
The End...
